摘要: A method for counting leukocytes which comprises liberating elastase from granulocytes contained in a specimen, adding an anti-granulocyte elastase antibody to the thus liberated elastase, measuring the antibody bonded to the elastase to thereby determine the concentration of the elastase, and then calculating therefrom the number of leukocytes contained in the specimen with the use of the ratio of the leukocyte count to the elastase concentration. This method makes it possible to conveniently and less expensively count leukocytes at a high accuracy comparable to the one established by using a conventional automatic blood cell counter, as the figure shows.

摘要: A data processing apparatus and method for an FA controller is provided which permits easy collection of response data from a plurality of different types of upper or lower controllers without complicating a user program. The apparatus includes a first control unit 8 for issuing an instruction for designating an object from which data is to be collected, a second control unit 9 for exchanging data with a plurality of upper or lower controllers 3 or 31 according to the instruction, and a two-port memory 16 for facilitating the transfer of information between the first control unit and the second control unit. The second control unit receives the channel number, from which data is to be collected, and an initialization instruction or a sending and receiving instruction issued from the first control unit. The second control unit then refers to the initialization instruction and initializing conditions for each of the plurality of upper or lower controllers for each stored channel number, the instruction for the transfer of data to and from the controllers, and the data to be transmitted or received, in order to transfer data to and from the plurality of controllers and to send response data from the plurality of upper or lower controllers to the first control unit via the two-port memory.

摘要: There is a film image information reading apparatus called a film scanner. This apparatus comprises: a lighting optical system to illuminate a film document; a photoelectric conversion element, such as a CCD to convert the image information of the film document into the electric signal; and an adjusting circuit to adjust the output of the photoelectrical conversion element such that a predetermined density of the film document is output as an output of almost the saturation level of that element. The predetermined density is the color density of the base color of a negative film. The adjusting circuit may control the charge storage period, gain, or output level of the photoelectric conversion element. With this apparatus, the positive image can be easily derived by reversing the negative image without considering the base color of the negative film and the image signal of a high quality can be obtained.

摘要: An image processing apparatus and method in which an object is imaged to produce signals and the signals are divided into groups according to areas of the image having edges of high spatial frequency, i.e., large change in same-color characteristics. The signals in selected areas are changed to produce a reproduced image with desired color effects. For example, an edge may be detected in the original image, and the division of the image into areas effected by a closed curve using the edge. The subsequent processing may include changing a color characteristic of at least one of the areas. The color characteristic might, for example, be an average of various values of that characteristic throughout the area in question. The identification of a high-spatial-frequency area can be performed in various ways, e.g., by summing edge components of the original image which extend in a plurality of directions.
