摘要: A nonresponse-ratio determining unit determines, after starting a signal transmission to an electronic tag, whether a ratio of number of nonresponses from the electronic tag exceeded a predetermined value in a first predetermined period. A signal-transmission terminating unit terminates, when it is determined that the ratio of the number of nonresponses exceeded the predetermined value, the signal transmission for a second predetermined period. A radio-frequency-identification interrogator performs, after a lapse of the second predetermined period, a communication-channel selecting process for restarting the signal transmission to the electronic tag.

摘要: There is described a document data creating apparatus, a document data creating method and a program thereof, which make it possible to improve convenience of both the user and the creator of the document data by effectively utilizing the digital signature. The apparatus for creating document data that include a digital signature, includes: a character recognizing section to recognize a character based on image data inputted; a reliability determining section to determine a reliability degree of the character; a characteristic value calculating section to calculate a characteristic value of the document data; and a digital signature section to attach the characteristic value to the document data. When the reliability determining section determines that the reliability degree of the character is low, the digital signature section attaches a value, which is different from the characteristic value calculated by the characteristic value calculating section, to the document data as the digital signature.

摘要: The present invention provides a polarized light mode converter which can be provided within a two-dimensional photonic crystal or can be smoothly connected to a two-dimensional photonic crystal. In a two-dimensional photonic crystal made of a slab-like main body provided with a plurality of different refractive index regions (for example, holes 22) arranged in a lattice in the main body, where the different refractive index regions have a refractive index different from that of the main body, a polarized light conversion waveguide 23 is formed which is comprised of defects of the different refractive index regions arranged linearly whose a cross-sectional shape is asymmetrical in a vertical and in a horizontal direction. The polarized light conversion waveguide 23 can be, for example, realized by providing, on a side of the waveguide, holes 221 and 222 extending in a direction oblique to a the main body surface. TE polarized light propagating through the polarized light conversion waveguide 23 is partially converted into TM polarized light due to the asymmetry of the cross-sectional shape of the waveguide. Since the polarized light mode converter is made of a two-dimensional photonic crystal, it can be provided within a two-dimensional photonic crystal or can be smoothly connected to a two-dimensional photonic crystal.

摘要: A semiconductor device, having a memory cell region and a peripheral circuit region, includes an insulating film, having an upper surface, formed on a major surface of a semiconductor substrate to extend from the memory cell region to the peripheral circuit region. A capacitor lower electrode assembly is formed in the memory cell region to upwardly extend to substantially the same height as the upper surface of the insulating film on the major surface of the semiconductor substrate. Additionally, the lower electrode assembly includes first and second lower electrodes that are adjacent through the insulating film. A capacitor upper electrode is formed on the capacitor lower electrode through a dielectric film, to extend onto the upper surface of the insulating film. The capacitor lower electrode includes a capacitor lower electrode part having a top surface and a bottom surface. A semiconductor device organized as just described, permits implementation having a high density of integration while ensuring the capacitor exhibits high reliability and a constant capacitance.

摘要: The invention provides a substrate for a display which can be easily repaired even when there are problems such as inter-layer shorting attributable to invasion of static electricity. The substrate has a first wiring section disposed in a display area thereof and formed so as to outwardly extend from the inside of the display area. The substrate also has a second wiring section formed such that it intersects the first wiring section outside the display area on the substrate with an insulation film interposed between them. The substrate further has an opening formed in the second wiring section at least in a region thereof overlapping the first wiring section intersecting the same. Further, the substrate has overlapping portions formed at two ends of the opening where the first and second wiring sections overlap each other with the insulation film interposed between them.
