    摘要: A database is created that contains a plurality of data items gathered from many human beings wherein the data items affect the heart rate of a patient during a CT imaging procedure. Regression analysis is performed on the data in the database to derive an algorithm which defines an predicted heart rate value as a function of the plurality of data items. Specifically, values for the plurality of data items are obtained for the particular patient to be imaged and the algorithm is applied to those data items to predict the patient's heart rate which will occur during the CT imaging procedure. The predicted heart rate is employed to defined operating parameters of the CT procedure, such as the rate at which the x-ray source and detector rotate around a patient and the speed at which the patient moves through the imaging plane.

    摘要: A method for reducing noise from an electrical signal includes: obtaining a sampling rate for the electrical signal. The sampling rate is a rate at which voltage readings are obtained for the electrical signal. Each voltage reading comprises a data component and a noise component. A time interval is determined from the sampling rate. A number of voltage readings are obtained. Each voltage reading is obtained one time interval of time after a previous voltage reading is obtained. At each time interval: a voltage reading is obtained; the obtained voltage reading is applied to a low-pass filter; a noise value is obtained from the low-pass filter; and the noise value is subtracted from the voltage reading.

A correlated geographic synonym occurs when two terms that are possible synonyms should not be considered synonyms because they are associated with related geographic context. During operation, the system receives a term and a possible synonym for the term. The system then determines whether the term and the possible synonym are both present in a geographic data set. If so, the system uses the geographic data set to determine whether the possible synonym is a correlated geographic synonym for the term.
