Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide to estimate a load for each access mode of multiple access modes of a wireless station, wherein the access modes include a first mode and one or more other modes; calculate a loading metric for each access mode based on its corresponding load in response to the estimation; calculate an order of priority for each access mode by which one or more end devices are to use to connect to the wireless station, based on the loading metric of each access mode; generate a first message that includes the order of priority; and broadcast the first message within a cell of the wireless station.

Abstract: A base station includes an antenna to receive frequency bands that include a first band associated with first signals carrying machine-two-machine (M2M) data and a second band associated with second signals carrying user equipment (UE) data. The base station further includes a baseband unit (BBU) that includes: a radio frequency (RF) interface configured to receive the first signals and the second signals, a digital front end (DFE) configured to generate first symbols based on the first signals and second symbols based on the second signals, a symbol processor configured to convert the first symbols into the M2M data and the second symbols into the UE data, and one or more processors configured to forward the M2M data to a first device and the UE data to a second device that differs from the first device.

Abstract: A wireless communication device may include a baseband processing unit comprising a wakeup detector configured to receive a wireless signature beacon signal; determine that the received wireless signature beacon signal matches the selected wakeup signature beacon signal; and generate a wake up signal, in response to determining that the received wireless signature beacon signal matches the selected wakeup signature beacon signal. The wireless communication device may further include an application processing unit comprising a power manager configured to cause the wireless communication device to enter a power saving mode; receive the wake up signal from the wakeup detector; and perform a wakeup process, in response to receiving the wakeup signal wherein the wakeup process causes the wireless communication device to exit the power saving mode.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a network control component, an enhanced subscriber profile identifier (E-SPID) associated with at least one machine type communications (MTC) user device from a home subscriber server (HSS). The method includes determining whether the E-SPID is in a first range of E-SPID values, wherein the first range of E-SPID values corresponds to a delay that exceeds a threshold, and interacting with a self-organizing network (SON) controller that interacts an operation administration maintenance (OAM) component to control and define a modified E-SPID based on network traffic and coverage in response to a determination that the E-SPID is in the first range of E-SPID values. The method further includes sending the modified E-SPID to at least one enhanced evolved node b (eNodeB) associated with the at least one MTC user device, wherein the at least one enhanced eNodeB is operable to perform access control and scheduling for the at least one MTC user device based on the E-SPID.

Abstract: A computer device may include a memory storing instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to select a broadcast method for a wakeup signal for a wireless communication device; instruct a base station to broadcast the wakeup signal using the selected broadcast method; and provide information identifying the selected broadcast method to the wireless communication device. The processor may be further configured to receiving a wakeup request from a machine-type communication interworking function (MTC-IWF) device; map the received wakeup request to a wakeup signature beacon signal associated with the wireless communication device; and instruct the base station to transmit a wakeup signature beacon signal to the wireless communication device based on the received wakeup request.
