    摘要: A blood collector includes a cylindrical body having a closed end and an open end, and a hollow body is arranged coaxially at the closed end of the cylindrical body and has a hole communicating with the interior of the cylindrical body. A columnar body is arranged within the cylindrical body to be in tight contact with an inner wall thereof, with a distal end defining a blood collection space with the closed end of the cylindrical body. Further, the columnar body has a hole which allows the blood collection space to communicate with the outside. A freeze-dried blood anticoagulant mass is placed inside the blood collection space to cover an inner surface of the closed end of the cylindrical body and to block the hole of the hollow body. A filter is arranged across the hole of the columnar body. The filter is permeable to gases and impermeable to blood at least before being brought into contact with blood in the collection space.

    摘要: A pad assembly for use in a microorganism culture test is provided which comprises, in sterile conditions, a water-absorbing pad which is impregnated with a culture medium for culturing given microorganisms and dried, a filter member bonded to the upper surface of said water absorbing pad and having submicron pores of a size capable of substantially preventing the microorganisms from passing therethrough, and a coating of an antibiotic deactivating agent applied to the upper surface of said filter member or to the common surface between said filter member and said water-absorbing pad, as well as testing apparatus having the pad assembly mounted in a vessel. The invention eliminates the adverse effect of antibiotics in a sample to be tested which will otherwise inhibit the growth of microorganisms in the sample to adversely alter test results.

    摘要: Before software for a routing protocol in a second wireless terminal receives a routing packet between a first wireless terminal and the second wireless terminal that are both included in an ad hoc network, stability determining software determines whether or not a link between the first wireless terminal, which is the source of the routing packet, and the second wireless terminal is stable. When the link is determined to be stable, the software for the routing protocol in the second wireless terminal processes the routing packet. This allows building of a route using only a stable link between adjacent nodes.

    摘要: A code amount control method used in a video encoding method for performing code amount control by estimating a generated code amount for an encoding target picture. The control method includes steps of computing a feature value of the encoding target picture and stores the value into a storage device; extracting a feature value of a previously-encoded picture stored in the storage device and used for generated code amount estimation; comparing the feature values of the encoding target picture and the previously-encoded picture; and a step performed according to a result of the comparison. If it is determined that difference between both feature values is larger than a predetermined criterion value, the amount of code generated for the encoding target picture is estimated using no result of encoding of the previously-encoded picture, and otherwise the relevant generated code amount is estimated based on a result of the encoding.

    摘要: The computational complexity of a denoising filter is reduced while suppressing a reduction in coding efficiency. In an image processing apparatus, an edge direction detection unit calculates an edge direction using a denoising target image. A search shape setting unit sets a search shape in which the number of search points along the direction perpendicular to the edge direction is smaller than the number of search points along the edge direction, using the calculated edge direction as an index used for limiting the search shape. When noise of a target pixel is removed with a weight in accordance with the degree of template similarity between a template for the target pixel and a template for each of search points within a search shape and the weighted sum of pixel values at the search points, a filter execution unit executes a process of performing template matching on only search points within the set search shape and removing the noise of the target pixel.
