A method and apparatus for modifying scheduled recordings when a scheduled recording entered by a user overlaps in time with one or more pre-stored scheduled recordings is disclosed. If a channel and recording duration for a new scheduled recording is entered by a user, it is determined if the duration of the new scheduled recording overlaps with one or more pre-stored scheduled recordings. If it is determined that there is a conflict, the user is automatically notified of the scheduled recording that overlaps in time with the newly entered scheduled recording, the overlapping scheduled recording is modified based on user input responsive to the notification, and the newly entered scheduled recording is added to the list of scheduled recordings, or if the user chooses to keep the pre-stored scheduled recording, the newly entered scheduled recording is modified or deleted.

An illuminated exterior decorative device for vehicles includes a decorative part for a vehicle trademark like an emblem, an illuminating part illuminating the decorative part at least partially, and a mounting part attaching the illuminated exterior decorative device to the vehicles. The decorative part comprises a combination of an optically opaque part and an optically transmissive part. The optically transmissive part has a predetermined color. The illuminating part includes a light source and a light diffusion part. The light source includes one or more regular electric lamp or some other source such as light-emitting-diode. The illuminating part can include a controller to control the color, luminance, and duration of the illumination. The mounting part includes a double-sided adhesive tape, mechanical fastener, or one or more magnets. The illuminating part may include a fluorescent substance and a material with phosphorescence.

Disclosed herein are a transmission line of coaxial type and a manufacturing method thereof, capable of preventing a radiative signal loss of signal lines during transmission of an RF signal and removing signal interference between adjacent signal lines, thus allowing signal lines to be compactly arrayed during a manufacture of IC, and reducing a dimension of the IC. The transmission line of coaxial type includes grooves provided on a semiconductor substrate, a first ground layer, an electrically conductive epoxy coated on a flat part of the first ground layer except the grooves, second ground layers provided on the electrically conductive epoxy, a dielectric film provided at a position above the grooves and the second ground layers, a third ground layer provided on an upper surface of the dielectric film, and signal lines placed in spaces defined by the grooves and a lower surface of the dielectric film. In this case, the electrically conductive epoxy is coated on only contact surfaces of the first and second ground layers, and the signal lines are attached to the lower surface of the dielectric film.

An arrangement for coupling a first packaged integrated circuit to a second packaged integrated circuit comprises a first packaged integrated circuit that includes a first set of electrical interconnection elements arranged on a first surface and a second set of electrical interconnection elements arranged on a second surface which is opposite to the first side. A thermally conductive material is disposed on the second surface and the second set of electrical interconnection elements are arranged around at least a portion of the periphery of the second surface. A second packaged integrated circuit includes a third set of electrical interconnection elements arranged on a first surface of the second packaged integrated circuit. The third set of electrical interconnection elements are shaped to mechanically and electrically couple and decouple to or from the second set of electrical interconnection elements non-destructively by application of manual force.

In accordance with another representative embodiment, a high-frequency signal transmitter a power amplifier configured to supply a high-frequency signal; an antenna configured to transmit the high-frequency signal; a transmission line configured to transfer the high-frequency signal from the power amplifier to the antenna; and an impedance matching circuit connected to the transmission line. The high-frequency signal transmitter also comprises a mismatch detector. The mismatch detector is configured to designate a comparatively poor linearity region and a comparatively good linearity region by dividing a Smith chart into the two regions based on Adjacent Channel Power Ratio (ACPR) contours drawn on the Smith chart at a point on the transmission line where the impedance matching circuit is connected, to measure a time-dependent reflection coefficient of the high-frequency signal transmitter in terms of a phase and a magnitude, to determine whether the reflection coefficient is located in the comparatively poor linearity region or the comparatively good linearity region, and based on a result of the determination, to improve the linearity of the high-frequency signal transmitter.

The timing belt and a coupling structure of the same are disclosed, in which a stress focused at a corner portion decreases by forming an optimum shaped groove at a corner portion of a timing belt, so that it is possible to largely increase a fatigue life span of a timing belt and a durability of a timing belt. In addition, noises and vibrations can be minimized by forming a through hole at a threaded surface of a timing belt or a threaded portion of a sprocket. In the timing belt, which has threads at a belt body, there is provided an improved timing belt comprising a groove formed at a corner portion in which the threads and the belt body contact with each other.

An Optical Imaging Device of Retinal Function has been developed to detect changes in reflectance of near infrared light from the retina of human subjects in response to visual activation of the retina by a pattern stimulus. The measured changes in reflectance correspond in time to the onset and offset of the visual stimulus in the portion of the retina being stimulated. Any changes in reflectance can be measured by interrogating the retina with a light source. The light source may be presented to the retina via the cornea and pupil or through other tissues in and around the eye. Different wavelengths of interrogating light may be used to interrogate various layers of the retina. Additionally, various novel patterns and methods of stimulation have been developed for use with the imaging device and methods.

A stack type reactor that can adjust a length of channel (reaction time) to react raw substances with each other for a sufficient time and mix completely raw substances to maximize the reaction efficiency. The stack type reactor comprises an upper block with at least two inlets that introduce different kinds of raw substances and a lower channel fluidly connected to the inlets and formed at a lower surface thereof; a unit block including an upper channel corresponding to the lower channel of the upper block and formed on an upper surface thereof, the unit block including a lower channel formed at a lower surface thereof and fluidly connected with the upper channel via a connecting flow passage. The upper block and unit block form a flow path for the raw substances by connecting to the lower channel of the upper block to the upper channel of the unit block.

A safety cover of portable gas container includes top and bottom housings, a locking device, and a first opening on the top housing. The top housing is for covering the upper part of the portable gas container, and includes top and side walls, and a space, confined by the top and side walls, for accepting the upper part of the gas container. The first opening through the top wall of the top housing is adapted to expose a nozzle of the gas container. The bottom housing is for covering the lower part of the portable gas container, and includes side and bottom walls, and a space defined by the side and bottom walls. The locking device is for engaging and securing the top and bottom housings. The safety cover of portable gas container encloses the portable gas container and safely confines an explosion of the gas container inside.

Systems and methods for tracking eye movement includes directing an incident light beam onto each facet of a pyramidal prism to produce a plurality of beams that form a plurality of light spots, at least two of the light spots having different diameters. The prism is translatable to effect a change in spacing of the light spots. Intensities of light reflected from the light spots is used to retain the light spots upon a pupil/iris boundary. A relative intensity of the spots indicates a change in pupil size. A second light spot positioned on a predetermined eye sector can also be used to calculate a pupil characteristic and an environmental effect on light received from the eye.
