Abstract:
1. A PARTIALLY AMINATED POLYOXYALKYLENE POLYOL HAVING A FUNCTIONALITY OF FROM 2 TO 8 AND A HYDROXYL NUMBER OF ABOUT 20 TO 60 WHEREIN THE REACTIVE GROUPS OF SAID PARTIALLY AMINTED POLYOL COMPRISE FROM ABOUT 15 PERCENT TO ABOUT 55 PERCENT AMINE GROUPS AND FROM ABOUT 45 PERCENT TO ABOUT 85 PERCENT PRIMARY HYDROXYL GROUPS.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition comprising an aqueous solution of a) a hydrophobically modified alkylene oxide polymer comprising a hydrophobic portion functionalized with a protonated secondary or tertiary amine or a quaternary ammonium salt and b) an acid and a salt thereof, which acid is phosphoric acid, nitrilotris(methylene)triphosphonic acid, hydrochloric acid, or sulfuric acid. The composition of the present invention is useful for the preparation of an associative thickener that can be stored for long periods, in the absence of ancillary biocides, without spoilage from biodeteriogenic attack.
Abstract:
A supported catalyst used for synthesizing a polyether amine, and a manufacturing method of the catalyst. The catalyst comprises: a porous oxide as a support; Ni, Cu, Pd, and Rh as active components; and one or more of any of Zr, Cr, Mo, Fe, Zn, Sn, Bi, Ce, La, Hf, Sr, Sb, Mg, Be, Re, Ta, Ti, Sc, Ge and related metals as an auxiliary agent. The catalyst can be used in an amination reaction for a large molecular weight polyether polyol, and is particularly active and selective for an amination reaction of a low molecular weight polyether polyol. The catalyst has a simple and economic manufacturing technique and good potential for future applications.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure include polyetheramines, methods of making polyetheramine, methods of using polyetheramine, and the like.
Abstract:
A method for preparing multi-arm poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) amines from multi-arm PEG polyols is described. The method comprises a two step process, wherein the multi-arm PEG polyol is first reacted with thionyl chloride to form a multi-arm PEG chloride, which is subsequently reacted with aqueous or anhydrous ammonia to yield the multi-arm PEG amine.

Abstract:
A two step process for the preparation of polyethylene glycol-bis amine comprising a first step of reacting the terminal hydroxy groups of polyethylene glycol with a halogen substituted aromatic sulfonyl halide in a solvent to form a disubstituted sulfonyl activated polyethylene glycol intermediate. In a second step the intermediate is directly aminated with ammonia to give polyethylene glycol-bis amine.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A compound comprising a blend of polypropylene with the reaction of a functionalized polypropylene and polyether amine in which the polyether amine is grafted into the functionalized polypropylene in a customary mixing apparatus is disclosed. The blend may include an elastomer such as EP rubber and/or a filler such as glass. A process for producing the reaction product of the functonalized polypropylene and the polyether amine by melting with polypropylene in a customary mixing apparatus is also disclosed. Blends of the present invention are advantageously useful to prepare paintable automotive body parts. A polyether monoamine that contains from about 36 to about 44 ethylene units and from about 1 to about 6 propylene units, and processes and blends using same.
