    摘要: A production method for a glass run of EPDM material with a urethane slip layer and/or a flocked layer on its glass sliding area, whereby a primer layer for a urethane slip layer or a flocked layer can be co-extruded together with a glass run substrate of EPDM material. The primer layer is a polymer blend of NBR 40-80%, EPDM 20-60%, and SBR 0-35% by weight, respectively. Solventless urethane coating material is applied on each primer layer to form a urethane coat. Flocking is provided only on flocked layer area. The urethane coat is cured during vulcanization of the glass run substrate, and in this way a urethane slip layer and a flocking layer can be formed.

    摘要: A self-adhering heat seamable sheet material for roofing prepared from an uncured polymeric composition of matter which comprises 100 parts by weight of a semi-crystalline polymer having more than about 2 percent by weight crystallinity and selected from the group consisting of polyolefins prepared from monomers containing at least 2 carbon atoms; from about 20 to 300 parts by weight of a filler selected from the group consisting of reinforcing and non-reinforcing materials and mixtures thereof per 100 parts of the polymer; and from about 20 to 150 parts by weight of a processing material and mixtrues thereof, per 100 parts of the polymer. A method for covering a roof comprises the steps of applying layers of self-adhering sheet material prepared from an uncured heat seamable polymeric composition of matter to the roof being covered; overlapping adjacent edges of the layers; heating the overlapped areas to about the softening point of the sheet material and seaming the overlapped areas under sufficient pressure to provide an acceptable seam. For practice of the method, a polymeric composition of matter is provided which is self-adhering and does not require the use of an adhesive.

    摘要: A carcass for a self-sealing pneumatic tire is constructed by starting with an extruded thin flat strip of puncture sealant both surfaces of which are detackified. The strip is place on a building drum and its upper surface is wiped clean so that an inner liner may be adhered to it. Thereafter, the carcass is conventionally completed with superimposed successive layers of belts, and tread along with bead rings, etc. The carcass is then cured in a conventional curing press so that the sealant is cured by contact with the curing bladder. The curing sealant is not restrained in any way, but does not flow. Alternatively, a laminate of the sealant is formed with the inner liner, with only the exposed surface of the sealant detackified so that it adheres neither to the building drum nor to the curing bladder. The detackifier remains on the sealant. The recipe for this effective sealant product requires a ratio of high molecular weight elastomer to low molecular weight elastomer greater than 1; also, that there be at least as much, by weight processing aid as there is high mol wt elastomer. Such a recipe has a room temperature peak Mooney viscosity above 70, and, after curing, a peak Mooney viscosity at 150.degree. F. in the range above 15 but below 30. A combination of homogenizer and tackifier facilitates maintaining the necessary viscosity of the uncured sealant recipe. The tire provides excellent self-sealing results.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a hot-melt adhesive containing at least one propylene/1-hexene copolymer. The adhesive contains an amount of a low viscosity, substantially crystalline wax, having a melting point of about 90.degree. C. to about 125.degree. C., sufficient to improve the elastic delamination resistance of the adhesive. The adhesives are particularly useful in disposible diaper construction.

    摘要: This invention relates to blends of plasticizing oils and compatible tackifiers with olefin copolymers containing propylene, either 1-butene or 1-pentene and 3 to 14 mole percent of at least one C.sub.6 to C.sub.10 linear .alpha.-olefin which are useful as hot-melt, pressure-sensitive adhesives. The unmodified copolymer base resins have melt viscosities in the range of 10,000 cp up to about 1,000,000 cp at 190.degree. C. The addition of the plasticizing oils and compatible tackifiers to the copolymer base resin causes a dramatic and unexpected increase in the shear adhesion failure time in addition to improved coatability as well as substantial increases in probe tack and peel adhesion values of the copolymers.
