摘要: Extensible shells and related methods for constructing a support pier are disclosed. An extensible shell can define an interior for holding granular construction material and define a first opening at a first end for receiving the granular construction material into the interior and a second opening at a second end. The extensible shell can be flexible such that the shell expands when granular construction material is compacted in the interior of the shell. A method may include positioning the extensible shell in the ground and filling at least a portion of the interior of the shell with the granular construction material. The granular construction material may be compacted in the interior of the extensible shell to form a support pier.

摘要: A machine for and method of manufacturing concrete U-wall construction blocks, each having a front wall portion and a pair of stem portions extending from said front wall portion. The method involves providing a system of molding jacket panels, including a core molding assembly having a pair of inside stem jacket panels that are adjustably supportable in a substantially parallel manner during a molding process, and arranged is such a manner that the front wall portion is molded in downwardly facing direction toward a horizontal support surface and completely enclosed in one or more molding jacket panels. Before block molding operations, the thickness of the front wall portion of the U-wall construction block is set by determining the thickness of a front wall surface liner and installing the front wall surface forming liner within the system of molding jacket panels. Also, thickness of the stem portions of the U-wall construction block is set by determining the proper distance between the pair of said inside stem jacket panels supported in a parallel manner during the block molding process. Thereafter, concrete is poured or injected through pour openings provided in the molding jacket apparatus to form the front wall portion and stem portions of the concrete U-wall block.

摘要: The present invention provides a concrete form comprising a housing having a foot portion and a leg portion. The leg portion of the housing has a top end and a bottom end. The leg portion of the housing consists of four equi-spaced identical semi-conical wall segments and four concave wall segments joining adjacent semi-conical wall segments to provide a generally truncated conical configuration with a rounded cross or four leaf clover horizontal cross section. The top and bottom end of the leg portion is open. The foot portion is an inverted dish shape. The dish shaped foot portion has an annular side wall and a top wall. The bottom end of the leg portion is coaxially connected to the top wall of the dish shaped foot portion. An opening is provided in the top wall of the dish shaped foot portion the same size and shape as the internal cross-section of the bottom end of the leg portion. The concrete form of the present invention because of its unique construction provides numerous advantages over conventional fiber tubes. It is easier to dig a hole into which the form can be inserted; the present invention will take about one third the volume of concrete that a similar sized fiber tube and due to its tapered construction, the concrete forms of the present invention will resist upward frost movement.

摘要: A modular wall block is formed with two integral, transverse projections extending upwardly from its top surface, spaced from the front face of the block and spaced from each other by an upwardly opening groove. Each block also includes two downwardly opening, transversely extending, grooves of different widths spaced from the front face and spaced from each other by a downwardly extending projection. The width of the downwardly extending projection and the upwardly opening groove are approximately the same and the combined distance between the extreme edges of the two upwardly extending projections is substantially equal to the width of the larger of the two downwardly opening grooves. The height of the upwardly extending projections is equal to or less than the depth of the two downwardly opening grooves. By this arrangement, it is possible to selectively superimpose such blocks in a manner which either positions the front faces of superior blocks in a vertically aligned orientation or a vertically set-back orientation. An optional recessed area located in the upper surface behind the two projections is adapted to receive a grid-like sheet of reinforcing material which is captured therein by the lower surface of a superimposed block. The blocks of this application are dimensioned to be integrated in a retaining wall constructed of a mixture of these blocks and more robust modular wall blocks interconnected by a comb-like device. Multiple wall blocks are simultaneously formed on their side to enhance the high speed molding techniques.
