Abstract:
A variable valve system for an internal combustion engine includes a plurality of engine valves provided per one cylinder; a swing arm configured to perform an opening-and-closing operation of at least one of the plurality of engine valves by swinging about a fulcrum given by a support member; a variable lift mechanism configured to cause the swing arm to swing, and to vary a lift amount of the at least one of the plurality of engine valves; a valve stop mechanism provided for the at least one of the plurality of engine valves and configured to stop the opening-and-closing operation of the at least one of the plurality of engine valves by producing a lost motion of the support member; and an engine-speed limiting section configured to variably limit a maximum rotational speed of the internal combustion engine in accordance with a displacement amount of the lost motion.
Abstract:
In a cylinder lubrication system for a two-stroke engine, a plurality of lubricating oil supply openings (78) open out in the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder (42) at a point lower than a top ring (22b) of a piston (22) located at a bottom dead center. The lubricating oil supply openings are configured to provide a larger amount of lubricating oil in the thrust side and anti-thrust side of the cylinder than in a remaining part of the cylinder. Thereby, the consumption of lubricating oil and the emission of undesired substances can be minimized while providing an optimum lubrication of the sliding part between the piston and the cylinder.
Abstract:
A continuously variable valve lift device for a vehicle is provided, which includes a drive shaft rotating in association with a crank shaft and having a drive cam formed on an outer periphery thereof, a locker arm shaft provided apart from the drive shaft and having one end that supports a rocker arm rotating and rocking in association with the drive cam, output cams rotatably installed on the drive shaft to interlock with the other end of the rocker arm, and a variable drive part straightly moving the rocker arm shaft in a vertical direction of the rocker arm shaft to vary a valve lift. When a valve is shifted from the high-lift state to the low-lift state, a pumping loss is reduced to improve the fuel consumption ratio. Also, since an advance function is provided, an exhaust-side CVVT can be deleted to greatly reduce the manufacturing cost.
Abstract:
An electric motor includes a motor casing formed with a shaft insertion hole and a motor output shaft extending in the shaft insertion hole and projecting to a speed reducing mechanism. An annular oil seal is disposed between the shaft insertion hole and the motor output shaft and the annular oil seal includes an annular seal retainer buried in the annular oil seal for reinforcement. A C-shaped stopper member extending circumferentially from a first end to a second end spaced from the first end, is held in a holding portion or a fitting groove of the shaft insertion hole, and arranged to prevent movement of the oil seal toward the speed reducing mechanism. The stopper member includes a plurality of beam segments confronting the seal retainer from an axial direction of the motor output shaft.
Abstract:
In a variable valve system for an internal combustion engine and its driving mechanism, the variable valve system comprises: a variable mechanism that revolves a control axle to change an operation characteristic of an engine valve; a projection section projected at an outer peripheral predetermined position in an axial direction of the control axle and on a tip of which a fixture section is formed; a fixture member fixed in a grasped state for the projection member via an engagement member engaged on the fixture section; a driving mechanism configured to provide a rotating force for the control axle via the fixture member; and control means (a control section) for controlling the driving mechanism in accordance with a driving state of the engine.
