    摘要: Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for processing an exhaust gas, which enable to suppress decrease of pH and increase of ORP of a mixture of an aqueous solution of a reducing agent and an aqueous alkali solution circulated within a wet reactor comprising a reduction reaction region and an oxidation reaction region. The method and apparatus enable to prevent deterioration of the mixed aqueous solution, and can be continuously operated for a long time. Specifically, the ORP and pH of the mixed aqueous solution of the aqueous solution of a reducing agent and the aqueous alkali solution to be circulated within the wet reactor are measured, and a fresh aqueous solution of a reducing agent and a fresh aqueous alkali solution are supplied, if necessary, into a reservoir unit arranged in the lower part of the wet reactor so that the ORP and pH of the mixed aqueous solution are kept within predetermined ranges.

    摘要: An emission control system (ECS) and associated method for facilitating the emulsification and/or dispersion of hydrocarbon, diesel particulate matter (DPM) and other pollutants from the exhaust gas output from a diesel engine of a marine vessel, includes a pump, a control system that controls the pump, and a product container containing an environmentally approved dispersing product. The ECS injects dispersing product into the engine's water cooling and exhaust system, for example, into the cooling water downstream of the engine and upstream of the spray ring or mixing elbow of the exhaust system. The environmentally approved dispersing product is drawn from the product container via the pump and injected at a controlled rate into the raw cooling water, and the dispersing product/cooling water mixture admixes with the exhaust gas resulting in emulsification and/or dispersion of the hydrocarbon, DPM and other pollutants present in the exhaust gas.

    摘要: A water drop muffler for use in a marine exhaust system to silence exhaust noise while separating entrained water from exhaust gas using hydro-dynamic centrifugal separation principles enhanced by turbulent flow. A muffler housing has a top and a bottom, and defines an internal volume bounded by a generally vertically disposed cylindrical inner surface formed about a longitudinal axis. A generally tubular exhaust inlet is disposed in generally tangential relation with the cylindrical inner housing surface for receiving a mixture of exhaust gas and entrained cooling water. A variable geometry flow channel efficiently transitions the flow for discharge through a vertically elongate opening disposed along the length of the housing inner surface thereby creating vortex flow within the housing to maximize the generation of centrifugal forces. The vortex flow formed within the housing causes the relatively heavy water droplets and water vapor (i.e. steam) to be drawn away from the housing axis toward the cylindrical inner surface. In addition, turbulent boundary layer flow along the surfaces of the variable geometry flow forming channel and the other housing surfaces functions to more efficiently draw entrained water droplets and steam into contact with various surfaces within the housing thereby causing water to coalesce along the inner housing surfaces.
