    摘要: A high bandwidth telephone line transceiver for connecting telecommunications equipment to a telephone line provides a pair of isolation capacitors connected to the telephone line to transmit the telephone signals across the requisite electrical isolation barrier. The capacitors are connected to a user-side hybrid circuit that provides a line impedance match for the telephone circuit, and converts the two wire connection to the capacitors to a 4 wire circuit for separate transmit and receive signal paths. The receive signal path extends through a signal op amp to a high pass filter that transmits the DSL download bandwidth and rejects the upload bandwidth and voice spectrum. The received signal is then fed to an analog/digital converter, and the digitized signal is connected to a DSP. The DSP is connected to a data handling device via a USB port, a PCI interface, or the like. The transmit signal path extends from the DSP circuit to a transmit path digital/analog converter. The resulting analog signal is fed through a low pass filter, which transmits the upload bandwidth and rejects the remainder of the spectrum. The signal then passes through a compensation network that maintains a flat impedance characteristic over the upload bandwidth, and then through a line impedance matching network to the other isolation capacitor that connects to the telephone line. The hybrid circuit also cancels the near echo from the transmit signal path to the receive signal path.

The power input assemblies provide separate cavities with a centerwall for the power input cables to be led into and a cover closing the cavities. A line interrupting unit, provided in said remote terminal, interrupts a communication line which is currently not in service when the current detection signal is supplied.

    摘要: A communications terminal interfaces a large number of potential individual telephone subscriber channels with a wide bandwidth, time multiplexed fiber optic or other type of trunk line. A time slot interchanger within the terminal assigns each of the subscriber channel time slots to one of the time slots in the trunk line signal. Data of the individual time slots of a frame of data of all channels is sequentially stored in a random access memory and then read out in a different sequence. A uniquely addressed location is provided in the memory for data of each individual channel. For cases where all channels are not being utilized, the system omits reading and/or writing data into the corresponding memory data locations not being used, thus saving power.

The battery supply voltage is increased to effect a commensurate increase in loop current, and the loop impedance is re-adjusted by appropriately configured operational amplifiers. A thermally responsive sensor is mounted in a heat-conducting relationship with resistive elements in the subscriber loop with an increase in temperature representing an overcurrent situation, such as power line cross-over, and provides a control signal effective to disconnect the subscriber loop from interface circuit.
