Abstract:
Embodiments of the systems, devices and methods described herein generally facilitate performing Bluetooth pairing between a first device and a second device. In accordance with one example embodiment, a first device generates a barcode that encodes Bluetooth pairing data for transmission to the second device, wherein the pairing data comprises a Bluetooth address associated with the first device, and wherein the pairing data further comprises a personal identification number usable to complete the Bluetooth pairing, the barcode is transmitted to the second device, and Bluetooth pairing is performed with the second device.
Abstract:
In a case where a first information including an execution request of a specific function via a first type of interface is received, a function executing device may execute a change process for changing an interface for communicating with a terminal device from the first type of interface to a second type of interface in a case where a state of the function executing device is determined as a non-error state. The function executing device may not execute the change process in a case where the state of the function executing device is determined as an error state. The specific function may include a communication process for communicating object data with the terminal device. The function executing device may execute the specific function including the communication process via the second type of interface in a case where the change process is being executed.
Abstract:
The present invention is applicable to a peripheral device which performs processing based on information from an information processing device. The peripheral device of present invention is characterized by a storage unit, which stores in it a program of controlling of designated processing, and stores in it data for controlling the peripheral device, and by a communication unit which sends the program stored in the storage unit to the information processing device, and by a control unit which controls operation of the peripheral device based on an instruction information written into the storage unit upon execution of the program on the information processing device.
Abstract:
A touch sensitive screen mobile information apparatus having a wireless communication unit for wireless device discovery is herein disclosed. Close proximity wireless device discovery is enabled by wireless searching near distance via radio frequency field for a wireless device, receiving information from the wireless device over the near distance wireless communication, and storing the received information at the information apparatus for future wireless connections. Authentication or pairing of devices may be eliminated due to close proximity of the direct wireless device discovery. After wireless device discovery, the information apparatus and the wireless device may become locked or paired for subsequent wireless communication over any number of wireless communication protocols or standards (e.g., Bluetooth, IEEE 802.11, 2.4GHz) without the need to repeat wireless discovery or pairing. Examples of information apparatus include smart phones, digital camera, laptops, or information pads. Examples of wireless devices include televisions, audio output devices, or printers.
Abstract:
The specification of smart televisions are herein disclosed and enabled. The smart television is a wireless television that includes a wireless communication unit compatible, at least partly, with a protocol within IEEE 802.11, and may include Bluetooth compatibility. The smart television may render digital content received from a wireless mobile information apparatus over the wireless communication unit. The smart television includes an operating system for enabling installation of additional applications for expanding functionalities of the smart television; an output controller for decoding, decompressing, or decrypting the digital content; an image processor for applying one or more of a color, an image enhancement, or a resolution operation; and an output engine for rendering the digital content to a display or a projection medium. The wireless television may further include a touch sensitive display screen for interacting with users. Additionally, the wireless television may include authentication based on biometrics of the user.
Abstract:
Smart phones are herein disclosed and enabled. The smart phones include a graphical user interface, a touch sensitive screen, a digital camera, and a wireless communication unit compatible with Bluetooth® and/or IEEE 802.11 standards. The user may install additional applications to the smart phones. In one example, the smart phones may connect wirelessly to a Bluetooth® wireless audio output device. To setup a wireless Bluetooth® connection, the smart phone may provide an interface over the touch sensitive screen, wirelessly discover one or more wireless devices for user selection, and lock a wireless communication link between the smart phone and the selected wireless audio output device. A password or code may be required for establishing connection. Thereafter, a security key or identity of the wireless audio output device may be stored in the smart phones to facilitate future connections. The smart phones may also support direct wireless communication based on IEEE 802.11 standards.
Abstract:
A printing system comprising a printing device and a server configured to perform data communication with the printing device. The printing device comprises a printing unit configured to print an image on a printing sheet, an attachment unit to which a removable medium is removably attached, a first communication interface configured to communicate with the server, and a first controller configured to acquire at least part of data in the removable medium attached to the attachment unit, control the first communication interface to transmit the acquired data to the server, delete the data in the removable medium corresponding to the acquired data. The server comprises a second communication interface configured to communicate with the printing device, a server-side storage configured to store the acquired data, and a second controller configured to store the acquired data received by the second communication interface in the server-side storage.
Abstract:
A wireless communication terminal may include: an instruction unit (CPU) that instructs whether a wireless communication serves as host or target; a wireless communication unit that transmits/receives the radio frame to/from a terminal serving as target when receiving an instruction from the instruction unit to serve as host, and transmits/receives the radio frame to/from a terminal serving as host when receiving an instruction from the instruction unit to serve as target; and a setting unit that sets the frame transmission interval of host as the frame transmission interval when receiving an instruction from the instruction unit to serve as host, sets the frame transmission interval of target as the frame transmission interval when receiving an instruction from the instruction unit to serve as target, and transmits a radio frame to a terminal serving as host when the frame transmission interval of target is set.
