Abstract:
The description relates to novel organo(poly)siloxanes of the general formula (I): (R.sup.1 O).sub.a HSiR.sub.2-a O[SiR .sub.2 O].sub.n SiR.sub.2 R.sup.2, in which R and R.sup.2 are the same or different and represent a monovalent, possibly substituted hydrocarbon radical; R.sup.1 is the same or different and represents a monovalent, possibly substituted hydrocarbon radical; n is a whole number of at least 2; and a is 1 or 2. The organo(poly)siloxanes are used as additives in materials which can be cross-linked to form organopolysiloxane elastomers.
Abstract:
Addition-curable platinum group metal catalyzed silicone compositions are provided which utilize a bis[trialkyloxysilylalkylene]amine or urea adhesion promoter. Cohesive bonding can be effected on both plastic and metal substrates at temperatures of 100.degree. C. or below in less than 1 hour.
Abstract:
The adhesive organopolysiloxane composition contains a compound having two or more allyl ester groups in combination with an adhesion imparting agent of a silicon compound having at least one group selected from the group consisting of an alkoxy group and an epoxy containing hydrocarbon group and also having at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom. This composition is markedly improved in adhesion to various substrates and durability of the adhesion.
Abstract:
The subsequent tack and adhesion of a silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive can be improved by incorporating into the adhesive a small amount of an organopolysiloxane resin having a majority of R.sub.3 SiO.sub.1/2 siloxane units and the balance (R.sup.2 O).sub.a SiO.sub.(4-a)/2, preferably SiO.sub.4/2, siloxane units. The resulting composition, when brought into contact with a release liner, such a peelable protective sheet or the backside of the next turn in a roll of tape, have better tack and/or adhesion when separated from that liner than an analogous composition which does not contain the resin.
Abstract:
Compositions curable to pressure sensitive adhesives are disclosed which comprise from 30 to 50 parts of a vinyl endblocked polydiorganosiloxane fluid having a viscosity from 500 to 10,000 centipoise at 25.degree. C., from 50 to 70 parts of a benzene soluble resin copolymer havingR.sub.3 SiO.sub.1/2 units and SiO.sub.4/2 units,an organopolysiloxane having silicon bonded hydrogen atoms for the purpose of curing the composition and developing the PSA properties, and a platinum catalyst for the curing process.
Abstract:
Compositions which cure by a platinum-catalyzed reaction between silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms and silicon-bonded, aliphatically unsaturated hydrocarbon radicals have improved pot-life and cure-rate characteristics when a catalyst-inhibiting amount of a diorgano fumarate compound is added to the composition. Solventless coating compositions containing a dialkyl fumarate, a methylhydrogenpolysiloxane and a methylpolysiloxane bearing hexenyl radicals are particularly useful as adhesive-release coatings for acrylic-based pressure sensitive adhesives, applied in-line.
Abstract:

Additional objects of the present invention include adhesives, sealants or coatings containing the polymerizable composition according to the invention, and the polymerization products of said components.
