    摘要: Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a multilayered tube, including: preparing an outer tube, an inner tube having an outer diameter of 95˜98% of an inner diameter of the outer tube, and dies with a shaping void having a diameter of 100.20˜100.30% of an outer diameter of the outer tube; mounting the outer tube on the shaping void, with the inner tube inserted into the outer tube; plastically expanding the inner tube to be brought into contact with the outer tube by injecting a fluid into the inner tube until a pressure of the fluid reaches a first forming pressure inside the inner tube; elastically expanding the outer tube to be brought into contact with the shaping void by increasing the pressure of the fluid until the pressure of the fluid reaches a second forming pressure inside the inner tube; and elastically recovering the outer tube to allow the outer tube and the inner tube to be coupled to each other by removing the fluid from the inner tube, wherein the first forming pressure is in the range of 10˜20% of yield strength of the inner tube, and the second forming pressure is in the range of 10˜20% of yield strength of the outer tube and is maintained for 2˜3 seconds.

    摘要: The joint reinforcement member for a hollow structure of an automotive vehicle has a carrier portion with an outer surface. The carrier portion has a base portion with a first extension having a first longitudinal axis and a second extension having a second longitudinal axis. The first longitudinal axis and second longitudinal axis correspond to the hollow structure. A thermally expandable adhesive layer is disposed on the outer surface of the carrier portion and substantially covers the outer surface. A method for forming the joint member includes providing a carrier having a plurality extensions extending from a base portion that correspond to the hollow structure a layer of thermally expandable adhesive materials applied to the carrier portion. The carrier portion is heated to activate the adhesive layer. The adhesive layer is cooled so that the adhesive layer is bonded to the structural member. The reinforcement member may be inserted into the hollow structure of an automotive vehicle before assembly of the vehicle so that during a paint bake operation, the adhesive portion is heated and bonded to the structure of the vehicle.

    摘要: An edge joint particularly adapted for use in boat construction and furniture construction due to its high strength and aesthetically pleasing appearance due to the elimination of external structural reinforcements such as chine logs and hardened fillets. The high strength non-reinforced edge joint comprises two bilaminated plywood panels positioned together at an angle between about 60.degree.-170.degree.. Each panel defines a V-shaped groove along one side thereof so that one leg of each of the grooves is in contact with a corresponding leg of the other groove and the second legs of the grooves are spaced-apart so as to form an open cavity at the juncture of the panel. A cementitious material fills the cavity so as to form the edge joint as well as the protected outer corner thereof.

    摘要: An apparatus for holding a first rectangular board in a predetermined orientation to a second rectangular board. A holding apparatus is disclosed comprising a corner member having a first flat edge substantially corresponding in dimension to the width and thickness of a squared edge of the first board and a second flat edge located at a predetermined orientation from the first flat edge also corresponding in dimension to the width of the squared edge of the second board. Each flat edge of the corner member has an elongated protrusion, in the shape of a wedge, extending outwardly at a midpoint region. The protrusion engages a correspondingly formed tapered slot in the squared edges of the first and second boards. Bonding means is applied to the flat edges and protrusions to engage the squared end and tapered slot of each board.

    摘要: An end fitting for a hawser which reduces the shear stresses generated win the hawser. The hawser is embedded in a tapered plug, which fits within a complementary member which does not surround the tapered plug for its full axial length. As a result of this geometry, the shear stress which results from the combined tensile and compressive stresses within the hawser and plug is reduced thereby allowing a greater tensile load to be exerted upon the hawser.
