    摘要： An improved production counter for a corrugator including a knife for cutting web material into sheets. First and second digital signals are generated. The first digital signal indicates a predetermined number of sheets of web material to be cut by the knife. The second digital signal indicates the instantaneous number of sheets of web material cut by the knife. The second digital signal is cyclically incremented and decremented by predetermined counts. Coincidence of the cyclically varied second digital signal to the first digital signal is detected. A warning signal indicative of a preselected number of sheets of web material remaining to be cut is generated when the cyclically varied second digital signal and the first digital signal coincide.

    摘要： A filter cigarette making machine wherein the web which is to yield adhesive-coated uniting bands is flexed by a curling device before it reaches the paster. The curling device is rigid with or is movable relative to a supporting device which is mounted in the frame of the filter cigarette making machine. A safety device can be activated to disengage the web from the curling device during starting of the web and/or to temporarily disengage the web from the curling device when a splice in the web approaches the curling station. The safety device has a rod which can bodily disengage the web from the edge of the curling device or a shaft which can rotate the supporting device to thereby move the curling device out of the way.

    摘要： The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for making corrugated cardboard container blanks of longitudinally corrugated cardboard based on a new idea of producing stitchless corrugated container blanks on a continuous basis. An elongated strip of corrugated cardboard is formed, the corrugations of the core ply of which extend longitudinally. The face plies are laterally offset in opposite directions so as to form stepped edges at both sides of the strip. Transverse and longitudinal folds or creases and slots are formed in the strip and the strip is formed into a tube by joining the stepped edges on a mandrel which is gradually flattened, and individual stitchless corrugated container blanks can then be cut off the flattened tube.

    摘要： A method for manufacturing corrugated angle members. These members are made of heavy paper, for example, and serve as protective reinforcements in relatively large packages containing appliances and the like, so that the corrugated angle members by engaging the appliances within the container of the package will protect the appliances against damage. A plurality of corrugated plies are glued to each other while being longitudinally angled to a gradually increasing extent by a forming means which provides the glued-together corrugated plies with a preselected angular cross section. Then the angled corrugated structure is dried while conveyed by a conveyer means through a heat tunnel. Thereafter, the corrugated structure is cut by a cutting means to preselected lengths.

    摘要： A method and an apparatus are provided for feeding a web of thin, flimsy material to a wrapping station located in a wrapping machine. A sheet of the thin, flimsy material is cut from the web after it has been fed to the wrapping station. During the feeding process, a continuous web of thin, flimsy material is moved along a path from a supply. While in the feeding process, continuous, longitudinal pleats are formed in the continuous web while it moves along said path. The pleats are effective to stiffen the material without causing a transverse stress therein, thereby enhancing its capacity to be fed to the wrapping station. The feeding assembly may be used in combination with a wrapping machine for wrapping packages with a thin, flimsy sheet of material. A more specific embodiment includes an assembly providing means for placing continuous, longitudinal pleats in a thin, flimsy web of material. In this specific embodiment, the web of material is fed vertically downwardly into the wrapping machine at which point sheets are cut from the end of the web for placement around a package.

    摘要： Hang-tags are frequently attached to cloth garments by means of a hand-operated bar-lock-dispensing assembly which deposits a bar-lock attachment intermediate the cloth and the tag.
