摘要： A process for producing compounds of formula (VIIa) and (VIIb) wherein X is a leaving group; Y and Y1 are idependently Cl or Br; and Z is Cl, Br or a haloalkyl group which process comprises a) reacting a compound of formula (VII) wherein X, Y, Y1 and Z are as defined for compounds (VIIa) and (VIIb) with a substantially optically pure chiral amine in a solvent to form a diastereoisomeric salt; b) separating the diastereomeric salt of each enantiomer; c) converting the diastereomeric salt of each anantiomer separately to compounds of formulae (VIIa) and (VIIb) respectively by acid or base hydrolysis, the use of the compounds in making pyrethroid insecticides and novel intermediates.

摘要： According to the present invention there is provided an insecticidal composition containing more than one active ingredients which comprises as active ingredient in an amount of 0.001-99% by weight a synthetic pyrethroid of the general Formula I ##STR1## wherein X stands for chlorine or bromine--namely out of the eight possible isomers at least 95% of a 55:45-25:75 mixture of the enantiomer-pairs Ia:Ib, wherein Ia is 1RcisS+1ScisR and Ib is 1RtransS++1StransR--if desired, in admixture with an activator and/or with an amount of up to 100% of an auxiliary agent, preferably an antioxidant, stabilizer, wetting agent, emulsifying agent, dispersing agent, antifoam agent, diluent, carrier, and/or filler.The advantage of the insecticidal composition of the present invention is that it is less toxical towards warm-blooded animals and useful parasites and is therefore much less harmful to the environment.

摘要： Diastereomers can be separated with good industrial success with the aid of extractive distillation. The separation process is characterized in that an auxiliary which changes the partial pressure of the various diastereomers to be separated to a different degree and thus allows easier separation of the diastereomers by distillation is added during the distillation. Using the present process diastereomic cis/trans-permetric acid methyl esters and mixtures of menthol and isomenthol can be separated with isolation of 99% pure product.
