    摘要: Methods for increasing the extractable rubber content of non-Hevea plant matter that entail the use of particular forms of hammer milling and/or roller milling in an increase in the amount of rubber that can be extracted from the resulting plant matter such as by organic solvent extraction or aqueous extraction are provided. In certain embodiments, the methods are for increasing the extractable rubber content of guayule plant matter, and entail the use of particular forms of hammer milling in combination with roller milling and flaking to increase the amount of rubber that can be extracted from the guayule plant matter such as by organic solvent extraction or aqueous extraction.

    摘要: Methods are provided for making a solution masterbatch containing a diene elastomer in an organic solvent and a reinforcing silica filler dispersed therein, comprising the steps of (a) mixing a precipitated silica having an average particle size substantially equivalent to an average particle size of a powdered silica, with a diene elastomer in a first organic solvent; and (b) desolventizing the mixture to form a solution masterbatch preparation. The use of such desolventized solution masterbatches in vulcanizable rubber compounds results in excellent processing characteristics with improved dispersion of fillers, including polymeric nanoparticles. The compounds also demonstrate improved properties, including reduced hysteresis.

    摘要: Process for the preparation of polybutadiene with a low branching degree which comprises: (a) a first polymerization step of butadiene in the presence of organic solvents and in the presence of a catalytic system comprising (a1) a derivative of neodymium; (a2) an aluminum alkyl having general formula (I) AlR1R2R3; (a3) an organo aluminum derivative containing at least one halogen atom, preferably chlorine; the above first step being carried out up to a conversion of butadiene >98% to give a linear polybutadiene (gm=1) with a content of 1,4-cis units greater than 93% and a Mw/Mn ranging from 2.2 to 2.9; (b) treatment of the polymeric solution obtained at the end of step (a) with a peroxide, (c) recovery of the polybutadiene with a low branching degree obtained at the end of step (b).

    摘要: The present invention relates to the utilization of trans 1,4-polybutadiene resin having a melting point of at least 30.degree. C. in rubber compositions. The invention, in one aspect, relates to replacing, or at least partially replacing, natural rubber with a pre-blend of trans 1,4-polybutadiene resin and synthetic cis 1,4-polyisoprene rubber. The invention particularly relates to preparation and utilization of a pre-blend of trans 1,4-polybutadiene resin and synthetic cis 1,4-polyisoprene rubber by blending individual polymerizate cements, drying the pre-blend, and use of such pre-blend in the preparation of rubber compositions and of manufactured products such as, for example, tires.

    摘要: There are provided a deproteinized natural rubber latex which comprises a purified product of proteolytically treated natural rubber latex and contains fine particles of natural rubber latex, a deproteinized natural rubber which comprises a dehydrated product of the deproteinized natural rubber latex, and a process for the production of deproteinized natural rubber latex which comprises subjecting a latex solution prepared by (1) adding water and/or a surfactant to a natural rubber latex and then proteolytically treating the resulting latex solution or (2) proteolytically treating a natural rubber latex and then adding water and/or a surfactant to the treated natural rubber latex, to purification using a rotary plate membrane separation apparatus. The deproteinized natural rubber latex contains substantially no protein, is excellent in film-forming property, and provides a raw rubber film having excellent green strength, and the process can produce the deproteinized natural rubber latex in a high yield with high production efficiency.

    摘要: The apparatus proposed herein relates to mass-exchange apparatus for isolating polymers from hydrocarbon solutions. The apparatus comprises a vertical column provided with a device for producing polymer crumb and an aqueous suspension, a device for feeding live steam, and contact trays which divide the column into compartments as for height. The device for producing polymer crumb and aqueous suspension is accommodated in the top portion of the vertical column and is essentially a chamber established on at least one side by the overflow baffle. The chamber accommodates the water supply nozzle and a conventional injector-type polymer crumb former. Such an arrangement of the device for polymer crumb formation and producing aqueous suspension results in a simplified construction of the entire apparatus and diminished overall dimensions thereof, as well as to a simpler attendance of the apparatus.
