Abstract: A Hardware-Embedded Delay PUF (HELP) leverages entropy by monitoring path stability and measuring path delays from core logic macros. HELP incorporates techniques to deal with bias. A unique feature of HELP is that it may compare data measured from different test structures. HELP may be implemented in existing FPGA platforms. HELP may leverage both path stability and within-die variations as sources of entropy.

Abstract: Using high-throughput screening, in an oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) model, isoxsuprine hydrochloride was identified as a potent neuroprotective compound. In an animal middle artery occlusion (MCAO) model of transient focal ischemia, isoxsuprine significantly reduced infarct volume compared to vehicle. The invention, therefore, provides methods of treatment and pharmaceutical compositions that are useful in the treatment and prevention of a wide-variety of ischemia-related injuries, including stroke.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to virus-like particles (VLPs) which are engineered to present epitopes from Staphylococcus aureus (SA), preferably autoinducing peptides (AIPs) which regulate quorum-sensing dependent virulence in this pathogen, or epitopes from SA toxins and leukocidins. These VLPs may be used to provide immunogenic compositions and efficacious vaccines. In a mouse model of SA dermonecrosis, vaccination with AIP-containing VLPs or SA toxin-containing VLPs induces protective immunity to limit the pathogenesis of SA infection and promote bacterial clearance.

Abstract: The present invention provides a relativistic magnetron including an anode with an entrant channel, the channel having an input end, an output end and a dimensional discontinuity between the ends. The channel is connected to the magnetron and has an anode defining an interaction space located between the dimensional discontinuity and output end. Also provided is a cathode, located upstream, a spaced distance away from the interaction space towards the input end, the cathode is adapted to send an electron beam into the interaction space where the electron beam forms a virtual cathode in the interaction space.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the invention provides a method of treating a subject suffering from a Mycobacterium infection by administering to the subject a therapeutically-effective amount of a degradative autophagy agonist or a secretory autophagy antagonist. In another embodiment, the invention provides a method of treating a subject suffering from one or more diseases selected from the group consisting of a Mycobacterium infection, an inflammatory disorder, an immune disorder, a cancer and a neurodegenerative disorder by administering to the subject a therapeutically-effective amount of a TBK-1 antagonist (e.g. BX795 or amlexanox). Related pharmaceutical compositions, diagnostic and screening assays and kits are also provided.
