Abstract:
A method of commerce using an A/V telecommunication device is performed by requesting a transaction using the A/V telecommunication device. The transaction request is received by a host server and communicated to a provider. The provider then delivers according to the transaction to a user of the A/V telecommunication device.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an information-processing apparatus including disclosure-information sender means for transmitting user-disclosure information to an other apparatus, disclosure-information receiver means for receiving other user-disclosure information from the other apparatus, display control means for controlling a process to display information received by the disclosure-information receiver means, connection request means for making a request for a connection to an other apparatus in accordance with a user operation, connection-permission determination means for producing a determination result as to whether or not a connection requested by the connection request means as a connection to an other apparatus has been permitted by the other apparatus on the basis of a response received from the other apparatus, and communication means for transmitting an image and voice of the user to an other apparatus and receiving an image and voice of an other user from the other apparatus in case a determination result produced by the connection-permission determination means indicates that a connection with the other apparatus has been permitted by the other apparatus.
Abstract:
A method of transforming general media content for delivery to an A/V telecommunication device is performed by inputting general media content and transforming the general media content to an A/V telecommunication format. The transformed content is delivered to an A/V telecommunication device.
Abstract:
A method for incentive based promotion on an A/V telecommunication device includes delivering promotional content to an A/V telecommunication device. User input is requested over the A/V telecommunication device and a response to the input is delivered to the A/V telecommunication device.
Abstract:
When a line for communication of audio signals between first and second portable-telephone devices through a first portable-telephone base station, a second portable-telephone base station and a portable-telephone line network has been connected, IP addresses are exchanged. The IP addresses are required for communicating image data by first and second terminal adapters associated with the first and second portable-telephone devices respectively through an OCN. Image data is then transmitted to the IP addresses received in the communication through the OCN. To put it concretely, an image of the user of the first portable-telephone device is transmitted by the first terminal adapter through the OCN to the IP address of the second terminal adapter to be displayed by a second television receiver associated with the second terminal adapter. By the same token, an image of the user of the second portable-telephone device is transmitted by the second terminal adapter through the OCN to the IP address of the first terminal adapter to be displayed by a first television receiver associated with the first terminal adapter. Thus, by merely taking a portable-telephone device to a place like a store selling home electrical appliances including a television
Abstract:
A telecommunications system for conferencing including a network. The system comprises N nodes in communication with each other through the network, where N is greater than or equal to three and is an integer. Each node of the N nodes able to produce a unique corresponding video stream having a bandwidth and a unique corresponding audio stream having a bandwidth for transmission over the network to other nodes of the N nodes, with each stream's bandwidth from each node being dynamically controlled and set at predetermined levels. A method for conferencing in a telecommunications system. A bandwidth manager. A method for controlling bandwidth in a telecommunications network. A telecommunications system for conferencing. Including a network. The system comprises N nodes in communication with each other through the network, where N is greater than or equal to three and is an integer. Each node able to produce at least one unique corresponding video stream and a unique corresponding audio stream for transmission over the network to other nodes of the N nodes. Each node able to selectively receive any stream from any of the other nodes. A videophone. A method for a video call.
Abstract:
A portable terminal with a telephone or radio communication function, a call response message transmitting method and a server for, when the user cannot answer an incoming call, enabling the user of the portable terminal to inform the caller of his/her situation that does not allow him/her to answer the call. A portable terminal comprises a storage for storing information on different types of messages each being associated with an image in a prescribed pose or gesture and a camera section for shooting an image when a call is received. The portable terminal recognizes the pose or gesture from an image shot by the camera section, and selecting a message corresponding to the recognized pose or gesture from the storage, and transmits the selected message to a calling terminal.
Abstract:
A method for verifying a purported location of a wide area network user is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of receiving information from a user via a wide area network, including a purported geographical location of the network user. A first network address from which the information is received is recorded, and an access code is generated and recorded. The access code is broadcast in a defined region that includes the purported geographical location of the user. A user access code is then received via the wide area network from the user. The user access code is compared with the access code broadcast in a defined region, and the first network address is compared to a second network address from which the user access code is received. If the codes and addresses match, the geographical location of the user is considered verified and the user may be validated. Various methods for broadcasting the access code and various systems for implementing the method are disclosed.
Abstract:
A method of cooperatively providing voice service(s), carried over a circuit-switched (“CS”) type network, with multimedia service(s), carried over a packet-switched (“PS”) type network to a wireless unit. The method of involves the communication between a calling-from-party and a calling-to-party. The method includes the step of receiving an initiation signal from the calling-from-party for identifying the calling-to-party. In response to verifying the identity of the calling-to-party as a service subscriber in a database, the method selects multimedia content to be transmitted to the calling-from-party. A voice link may then be established to the calling-to-party in response to the initiation signal from the calling-from-party. Thereafter, the initiation signal may be bridged with the established voice link to establish a voice link between the calling-from-party and the calling-to-party.
Abstract:
Users, who have simultaneous access to a plurality of terminal devices, can enter into a multimedia, multiterminal user session. In a negotiation phase users agree on which media to use in a multimedia session and select the most appropriate types of terminal devices that support the selected media. Each terminal device is connected to one of a plurality of interworking communications networks. A network node (130) that is reached through any of the plurality of interworking networks manages creation and supervision of sub-sessions involving the selected terminal devices such that each type of terminal device carry at least one selected media. A versatile and media rich communication is obtained in which terminal devices currently available at a local environment are efficiently used.
