Abstract: An apparatus (301) for communication according to a Universal Serial Bus, USB, specification, comprising: a first USB device (301) and a second USB device (306) for connecting operatively to a first USB host and a second USB host, respectively; an audio interface stage (320) configured to interface with an audio component such as a headset; and audio controller (316).The audio controller (316) is configured with: a first channel (327), channeling audio signals between the first USB device and the audio interface stage (320), and a second channel (328), channeling audio signals between the second USB device and the audio interface stage (320); wherein the audio controller (316) automatically switches between the first channel (327) and the second channel (328) while giving priority to audio signals on the first channel over audio signals on the second channel.Thereby respective software programs, among which one requires priority access to the audio component, running on one hardware apparatus, such as a personal computer, or on separate hardware apparatuses can be operatively connected to respective USB devices while sharing one audio component and while giving one of the respective software programs priority access to the audio component.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and a headset for reducing pop-noise in voice communication between a user and a far-end device. The headset has a first, a second and a third electro-acoustic input transducer for reception of audio input signals. The headset also has a first beamformer to provide a voice signal. The first beamformer is configured to optimize the voice-to-background noise ratio. The headset comprises a second beamformer configured for providing a pop-noise signal. The pop-noise signal is based on the first input signal from the first input transducer, the second input signal from the second input transducer, and a third input signal from the third input transducer. The second beamformer is adaptively configured to cancel voice and background noise while not cancelling pop-noise. The headset compares the pop-noise signal to the voice signal to determine time periods and frequency bands having pop-noise.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method, a headset and a system for determining heart rate data of a user. The system comprising a headset for voice communication, the headset being configured to be worn at least partly at or in the ear of the user, the headset comprising: a voice communication unit for enabling a voice communication call mode for establishing a call between the headset and a far-end device; a speaker for reproduction of audio signals; a microphone for reception of audio signals; a photoplethysmograph (PPG) sensor for optically measuring through the skin of the user in or at the ear of the user; wherein the system comprises a processing unit connected to the PPG sensor, where the processing unit is configured for determining heart rate data of the user based on the PPG sensor measurements; wherein the system comprises detecting whether the user is on-call with a far-end device or off-call; and wherein the system comprises a data communication unit for providing the determined heart rate data of the user, when the user is wearing the headset, for indication of the heart rate data of the user.

Abstract: A headset for voice communication is disclosed, the headset comprising at least one earphone having a speaker and one or more microphones. The headset is configured to be operated in a first mode in which an electronic noise cancelling circuit is configured to receive ambient audio via at least a first of the one or more microphones to implement an active noise cancelling function and to provide a noise cancelling audio signal to the speaker, and in a second mode in which ambient audio is provided as a hear-through audio signal to the speaker. The headset for voice communication is configured to detect whether a call is ongoing, and to provide a call signal in response to the detection. The headset comprises the electronic noise cancelling circuit, a voice activity detection unit configured to indicate when a user speaks, a switching element configured to switch the headset between operating in the first mode and operating in the second mode, wherein, when the headset is operated in the first mode and the call signal indicates that the user is not in a call, the switching element is configured to switch the headset from operating in the first mode to operating in the second mode when the voice activity detection unit indicates that the user speaks.
