The range finder includes a transmitting unit (71) which emits a transmitted wave (75) spread using a spread code at a constant chip rate, a receiving unit (72) which receives a reflected wave (76), a correlation unit (73) which calculates a correlation waveform indicating delay time and a correlation between the transmitted wave (75) and the reflected wave (76), and a distance calculation unit (74) which calculates, from a peak position in the waveform, a distance to the object. The correlation unit (73) calculates the correlation waveform obtained when changing the delay time for each range gate. The distance calculation unit (74) calculates the distance to the object by calculating, at a resolution finer than the range gate, a delay time corresponding to the peak in the correlation wave using a highest-correlation point and an adjacent higher-correlation point in the wave form.

The present invention provides a transmitting apparatus including an acquisition unit that acquires electronic program guide information contained in broadcast waves; a recording unit that records the electronic program guide information acquired by the acquisition unit in a storage medium; a determination unit that determines whether the electronic program guide information has changed, by comparing the electronic program guide information recorded in the storage medium and the electronic program guide information newly acquired by the acquisition unit; and a transmitting unit that transmits, when the determination unit determines that the electronic program guide information has changed, the newly acquired electronic program guide information to one or more than one receiving apparatuses connected via a network.

There is provided an electronic apparatus including a plurality of hard disk drives having a standby state and an active state as power application state. The electronic apparatus includes a drive setting portion to set each of the plurality of hard disk drives to a cache hard disk drive or a storage hard disk drive so as to use one hard disk drive in the active state as a cache hard disk drive and use a remaining hard disk drive as a storage hard disk drive, and a power control portion to control application of power to each of the hard disk drives according to setting by the drive setting portion.

To enhance the targeting accuracy in providing services such as provision of samples for members by performing management of member information and authentication while securing personal anonymity. There is provided a center server and a store terminal. The center server gives a unique ID to a member application, sends it to a particular mobile information terminal and manages it as authentication information about a member who is the user of the mobile information terminal. In response to purchases of a particular article by the member, the store terminal inputs the ID from the mobile information terminal and inputs purchase information about the article the member purchases. The center server then acquires attribute information about a member identified by the ID. Then, by checking the purchase information, the attribute information and service information set in association with attribute information about the member and kinds of articles and stored in particular storage means, information about a service to be provided for the member is identified.

A casting member comprising hot-die steel or high-speed steel as base material and having coating layers at least on its working plane, wherein the outermost layer among the coating layers consists essentially of at least one nitride, oxinitride or carnonitride composed mainly of V, and another coating layer comprising at least one nitride, oxinitride or carnonitride composed mainly of Cr is formed as a layer just above the base material. If necessary, an intermediate layer comprising at least one nitride, oxinitride or carnonitride composed mainly of V and Cr may be formed as a coating layer on the boundary surface between the outermost layer and the layer just above the base material. The thickness of the outermost layer is preferably 0.5 to 5.0 μm, the thickness of the layer just above the base material is preferably 0.5 to 3.0 μm, and the thickness of the intermediate layer is preferably 1.0 μm or less. Said casting member has excellent resistance to seizure, resistance to cracking and resistance to waste by melting.

The DC magnetic deviation prevention means 3 detects the coil currents I1, I2 flowing in the primary windings M1, M2 of the pulse transformer T. By controlling (shortening) the on time of the switching element having a greater amount of current, the coil currents I1, I2 are balanced (I1=I2), thereby preventing the magnetic deviation phenomena of the pulse transformer T.
