The memory may be embodied as flash memory, and the data may be related to a file system stored in the flash memory. The method enables the mass memory storage device to extend its internal volatile RAM to include RAM of the host device, enabling the internal RAM to be powered off while preserving data and context stored in the internal RAM.

    摘要: A storage module includes a storage controller having a control circuit that manages the operation of the storage module in at least a first state and a second state. The storage module also includes memory blocks connected to the storage controller. The memory blocks form a mass storage. A clock generation circuit connected to the storage controller and a reference clock terminal is configured to receive an external clocking signal and to generate an internal clocking signal based on the external clocking signal. The storage controller is configured to receive data, based on the internal clock signal, from the external device on a data terminal while the storage module is in the second state. The storage module also includes a first register containing data that describes a property of the external clocking signal in the first state.
