Abstract:
A catalyst for purifying exhaust gas from vehicles comprises a monolithic carrier having a plurality of exhaust gas passages penetrating through the carrier, a layer of active refractory metallic oxide such as .gamma.-alumina, containing 1 to 20% by weight of a catalytic metal such as platinum deposited as first layer on inside surfaces of said plurality of the passages, and a layer of exhaust gas-permeable refractory metallic oxide such as .gamma.-alumina free from a catalytic metal deposited as an outermost layer further upon the first layer.
Abstract:
A conductive connecting member is connected to electric wire with insulating coating by a fusing process so that electric continuity therebetween is ensured. The conductive connecting member includes a connecting section and a groove portion. The connecting section is formed by being bent so as to have an inner surface including a bottom surface and both side surfaces to be bonded to the electric wire. The groove portion is formed in the inner surface of the connecting section. The groove portion has a longitudinal groove extending in a direction of the inner surface intersecting with a longitudinal direction of the electric wire. The groove portion is positioned substantially at a center of the longitudinal direction of the electric wire. The groove portion may further have an inclined groove obliquely extending from the longitudinal groove or a transverse groove extending substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal groove.

An information reproduction method comprises setting an imaginary access unit in a video object in which a still picture is recorded; and managing reproduction by use of the imaginary access unit.
Abstract:
An information storage medium records contents and sets for each of the contents a resume permission flag indicating whether or not reproduction resume is permitted by a reproduction resume command or a command of a reproduction device executed based on a user operation.

Abstract:
A ceramic filter is provided including a substrate, a separation layer comprising titania and having an average pore size in a range of 0.08 to 1 μm and a thickness in a range of 5 to 20 μm, and an intermediate layer formed between the substrate and the separation layer. The intermediate layer includes aggregate particles that are bonded together with glass frits, and aggregate particles of the intermediate layer are smaller than aggregate particles of the substrate and larger than aggregate particles of the separation layer.
Abstract:
In this feeder line and terminal connection structure, each of feeder lines is positioned shifted in an axial direction of a stator for each phase, and includes a terminal portion extending in a radial direction of a stator; the terminals include a first connection portion, connected to one end of a stator coil, and a second connection portion, connectable to the terminal portions of the feeder lines for any phase; the second connection portion has a base portion, of length in the axial direction enabling connection to the terminal portion of the feeder lines for any phase, and a plurality of partition walls protruding from the base portion in a circumferential direction of the stator; and the terminal portions of the feeder lines for each phase are joined with one pair of the partition walls, in mutual opposition, and with the base portion.

Abstract:
A tube for a heat exchanger has notch portions at a longitudinal direction end portion to be inserted into a header tank. Further, several passage holes are provided in the tube to extend in a longitudinal direction of the tube in which refrigerant flows. The notch portions are formed by cutting parts of the tube to be defined by cut surfaces. The passage holes are not provided at portions corresponding to the cut surfaces. Therefore, the passage holes are securely prevented from being crushed and cut when the notch portions are formed by cutting. As a result, joining failure between the tube and the header tank can be prevented.
Abstract:
An oxygen concentration detector has a detecting element comprising a solid electrolyte inserted into a housing and heating means for heating the detecting element, and the outer surface of the detecting element is provided with a surface layer, the contact angle of the surface layer being larger than the contact angle of the outer surface of the detecting element with which the surface layer directly contacts.
