Abstract:
Disclosed are embodiments of a system and method for processing an image. An image processing unit includes a processor unit and a control unit. The processor unit is configured to analyze an incoming video signal and to select an optimized frame period in response. The control unit is configured to generate first control signal that manifests a sequence of bit plane time slices on a spatial light modulator during the optimized frame period. The control unit is further configured to generate a second control signal that defines a sequence of more than 15 primary color transitions for a solid state light source that illuminates the spatial light modulator during the optimized frame period.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for manufacturing a pharmaceutical dose which dispenses a variable selectable quantity of at least one pharmaceutical onto a pharmaceutical receiving medium. The quantity of the dispensed pharmaceutical(s) are controllably dispensed to customize each pharmaceutical dose to suit the needs of a particular user. The apparatus is coupled by an external telecommunication network to a remote signal source for receiving pharmaceutical quantity and type data for custom manufacturing a pharmaceutical dose. In one aspect, a replaceable cartridge contains a reservoir carrying at least one pharmaceutical component and a fluid drop generator which is mountable in the fluid dispenser. The reservoir may contain a number of separate compartments, each carrying different pharmaceutical component.
Abstract:
A display includes a matrix of liquid crystal elements, and a plurality of direct backlight devices. Each direct backlight device is configured to selectively illuminate a discrete portion of the matrix of liquid crystal elements associated with a backlighting sub-region with a temporal sequence of at least two illumination color lights during an image frame period.
Abstract:
A light source module includes a lamp assembly having an integrated reflector and heat sink, the lamp assembly having a pressurized gas contained therein, an anode sealingly coupled to the integrated reflector and heat sink, and a cathode sealingly coupled to the integrated reflector and heat sink; and a projector protection system including at least one first projection feature for suspending current flow from the cathode to the anode when at least one first threshold is exceeded and at least one second projector protection feature for stopping the current flow when at least one second threshold is exceeded.
Abstract:
An inhalation device includes an ejector head having one or more drop generator(s). A reservoir, adapted to contain a pharmaceutically active ingredient therein, is in selective fluid communication with the drop generator(s). Electronic circuitry is in electronic communication with, and operatively controls the drop generator(s). Further, the electronic circuitry is responsive to either a predetermined fault condition or an operational condition. The electronic circuitry deactivates the drop generator(s) in response to the predetermined fault condition, and the electronic circuitry activates the drop generator(s) in response to the operational condition.
Abstract:
A projection system is disclosed that includes a light source, a spatial light modulator, and an optical filter. The light source is configured to generate a light beam having a spectral distribution spanning a set of primary colors. The spatial light modulator has an array of pixel elements. Each pixel element is configured to receive a portion of the light beam and to output a modulated light beam with a spectral peak defining one of the set of primary colors. The optical filter is configured to narrow the spectral peak.
Abstract:
A display system includes a mechanism to provide for simultaneous pixelated color with a spatial light modulator. Also included is a mechanism to project the simultaneous pixelated color to create a color field display on a viewing surface. A further mechanism moves the color field display relative to viewing surface to provide at least one of color and resolution increasing wobulation.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for spreading a non-periodic color signal sent to a spatial light modulator across a frame period. The method can include the operation of dividing a frame period into a plurality of time slices. A further operation can be assigning a color to each of the plurality time slices. Another operation can be interleaving one or more colors assigned to the time slices across the frame period in a non-periodic manner.
Abstract:
