Abstract:
A multi-beam scanning device is provided with a light source that emits a plurality of light beams, a polygonal mirror that deflects the light beams emitted by the light source to scan, and an optical system that converges the deflected light beams on a plurality of objects to be scanned. The optical system includes an optical path turning system that turns optical paths of the deflected light beams, respectively. The optical path turning system is constructed such that optical path lengths of the optical path of the deflected light beams are the same, and one of the optical paths directed to an object located farthest from the polygonal mirror consists of two linear paths and one turning portion at which a beam is deflected.
Abstract:
Compounds of the general formula ##STR1## or their salts, esters or amide derivatives; and processes for their preparation. In the formula, R.sub.O represents hydrogen or lower alkyl, R.sub.2 represents hydrogen, halogen or nitro, R.sub.3 represents hydrogen or halogen, and R.sub.4 represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; and when R.sub.O is hydrogen, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are all hydrogens and the group ##STR2## is present at the 2-position. These compounds exhibit superior analgesic and/or anti-inflammatory actions with little gastrointestinal troubles.
Abstract:
A waste heat collecting system for an internal combustion engine has an object to collect waste heat from the engine and make most use of the collected waste heat to achieve the maximum effect of improving fuel consumption ratio. The waste heat utilizing system has a waste heat collecting cycle for collecting waste heat from an internal combustion engine and having an expansion device for generating rotational driving force from the collected waste heat, a refrigerating cycle having a compressor device for compressing a refrigerant and a power transmitting means rotationally driven by a driving force generating means and operatively connected to the compressor device to rotationally drive the same. In this system, the expansion device is operatively connected to the compressor device to rotationally drive the same.
Abstract:
A check valve is provided to each discharge port, which communicates between a corresponding working chamber and a high pressure chamber in an integrated compressor/expander apparatus. A valve mechanism, which is opened in a motor mode, is provided to communicate between the working chamber and the high pressure chamber.
Abstract:
A compressor device compresses refrigerant of a refrigeration cycle system and is connected to an engine and a motor to selectively receive drive force from one or both of the engine and the motor. When the engine is operated in an idling mode, a control apparatus energizes the motor to drive the compressor device alone or in cooperation with the engine and controls the energization of the motor to adjust load on the engine.
Abstract:
A multi-beam scanning device is provided with a light source that emits a plurality of light beams, a polygonal mirror that deflects the light beams to scan, and an optical system that converges the deflected light beams on a plurality of objects to be scanned. The objects are arranged on a side, with respect to the polygonal mirror, in which the light beams scan, from a position closer to the polygonal mirror to a position farther from the polygonal mirror in order. The optical system further includes a plurality of optical path turning systems that turn optical paths of the deflected light beams, respectively. Each of the optical path turning systems includes a plurality of reflection surfaces, the numbers of the reflection surfaces of the optical path turning systems are all even, or odd.
Abstract:
A multi-beam scanning optical system is provided with a plurality of laser diodes respectively emitting a plurality of laser beams, each of said plurality of laser diodes being accommodated in a casing, and a laser diode holding unit that holds the casings of the plurality of laser diodes. Heat generated by each of the plurality of laser diodes is conducted to each other through the casings of the plurality of laser diodes and the laser diode holding unit.
Abstract:
A multi-beam scanning optical system is provided with a light source unit emitting a plurality of beams. The beams are incident on a polygonal mirror, and deflected thereby to scan in a predetermined scanning range. The scanning beam is incident an f&thgr; lens system. The f&thgr; lens system includes a plurality of lenses, and all the beams pass at least one of the plurality of lenses included in the f&thgr; lens system. The lens, which all the beams pass through, is formed as a single lens element made of single material. Further, the lens contributes to convergence of the beams in the main scanning direction.

An antiferroelectric liquid crystal cell having a high-speed response and wide viewing angle characteristic free of an image sticking phenomenon is provided. This antiferroelectric liquid crystal cell is composed of an antiferroelectric liquid crystal material held between a pair of parallel substrates. The antiferroelectric liquid crystal material filled between the parallel substrates has such a characteristic that when a sinusoidal voltage value with a changing reference frequency is applied to the antiferroelectric liquid crystal cell, the imaginary part of the complex dielectric constant obtained by Fourier transform of the output voltage value output from the antiferroelectric liquid crystal cell has no local maximum value within the reference frequency range of 100 Hz to 5 kHz. In other words, this characteristic is similar to a characteristic such that when the real part and the imaginary part of the complex dielectric constant are plotted by using a Cole--Cole plot for each frequency, a characteristic curve having no local maximum value within the reference frequency range of 100 Hz to 5 kHz is obtained.
Abstract:
A scroll type compressor including mutually mating stationary and movable scrolls for producing compression. A circumferentially outer part of the movable scroll portion has a flat end surface and a chamferred surface. The chamferred surface tapers outwardly at an angle relative to the flat end surface greater than an allowable tilt angle of the movable scroll. A circumferentially inner part of the scroll portion includes a flat end surface only which has a groove to receive a tip seal, the tip seal having a height greater than a depth of the groove. The circumferentially outer part has an identical outer diameter to that of the base plate portion, and the base plate portion and the scroll portion are simultaneously machined.
