Abstract:
An apparatus for recording information on a disk-shaped medium with an appropriate amount of information, and allowing immediate verifying of the recorded information. The apparatus includes a unit for recording information of a recording unit on a recording medium, a verifying unit for verifying the recorded information, adapted, after recording the information of the recording unit, to effect a track jump from the last sector of the recording unit to a first sector; and a unit for selecting the number of sectors in the recording unit in such a manner that the position after the track jump from the last second of a recording unit is in front of the first sector by a predetermined number of sectors.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of recording information on a magnetooptical recording medium, which medium includes a first magnetic layer and a second magnetic layer having a lower Curie temperature and a higher coercive force at room temperature than those of the first magnetic layer. The second magnetic layer is exchange-coupled to the first magnetic layer. The first magnetic layer has a higher compensation temperature than the Curie temperature of the second magnetic layer. The method of recording information includes applying a magnetic field, which is modified in accordance with information from a magnetic head, to the medium to record information on the first magnetic layer and scanning the medium with a light beam to heat the medium to a temperature at least near the Curie temperature of the second magnetic layer so as to transfer the information recorded on the first magnetic layer to the second magnetic layer.
Abstract:
A keyboard includes a plurality of key row holders each supporting a plurality of key elements constituting each of the plurality of key rows, a support shaft placed to be rotatable about an axial center and support the plurality of key row holders arranged to intersect the axial center, an engaging portion formed on a support surface of each of the plurality of key row holders for the support shaft, and an engaged portion formed spirally on a surface of the support shaft in a direction of the axial center so as to be engaged with the engaging portion of each of the plurality of key row holders, the engaged portion causing the plurality of key row holders to shift in the direction of the axial center by an engagement with the engaging portion upon rotation of the support shaft. The keyboard enables easy and accurate key pitch adjustment.
Abstract:

Abstract:
An air intake apparatus has an air intake port opening outside, and an air intake path communicating the air intake port with a combustion chamber of an engine. For suppressing noise getting out from the air intake port, with respect to walls partitioning the air intake path, an opening is provided at a part of said walls corresponding to an antinode region of resonance mode of standing wave in a full length of the intake path, or at a part of noise pressure level being high in the intake path. The opening is closed with a permeable member and a noise insulating wall is disposed outside the permeable member for suppressing emission of transmitting noise passing through the permeable member. Alternatively, a vibration control member for suppressing face-vibration of the permeable member and reducing radiant noise from the permeable member is provided instead of the noise insulating wall.
Abstract:
A resonator comprises a housing arranged in an intake member for defining an opening to communicate with an intake passage and a volume portion to communicate with the opening portion, a movable partition which can change the volume of the volume portion, and a movable cover associated with the movable partition for changing the opening area of the opening portion.
Abstract:
An engine cover mounting structure comprising an engine member and an engine cover, wherein a plurality of portions to be fixed to which fixing portions provided on the engine cover are mounted are provided so as to be situated below an upper surface of a cylinder head cover of the engine member. In addition, a positioning portion is provided on the engine cover. Then, in a state where a base fixing portion is mounted or temporarily mounted to a base portion to be fixed, while the other fixing portions are not mounted to the other portions to be fixed, when the engine cover revolves about the base fixing portion, so that the positioning portion is brought into abutment with a surface of the engine member, the fixing portions other than the base fixing portion are disposed at positions facing the portions to be fixed, respectively.
Abstract:
An opening long in the longitudinal direction of a duct wall is formed. The whole of the opening is covered with non-woven fabric, and the lateral width of the opening is set to be not shorter than {fraction (1/20)} of the circumferential length of the duct wall. Alternatively, a porous member is thermally welded with the head of an opening of a small cylindrical portion projecting from the duct wall of a duct body 1, while the duct body is prevented from deformation. In a method for manufacturing the air take duct, a high-melting molded piece is brought into contact with a hot plate so as to be heated. A low-melting molded piece is disposed at a distance from the hot plate so as to be heated by radiation heat from the hot plate.
Abstract:
An information recording and/or reproducing method and apparatus for effecting recording of data onto and/or reproducing of data from a recording medium by irradiating a desired track on the recording medium with a light beam emitted from a light source through an optical system. In the apparatus, a single processor executes an input/output control of the data for the apparatus and a power control of the light beam by interrupting the input/output control at every predetermined period. The processor inhibits the interrupt power control of the light beam in accordance with a predetermined situation.
Abstract:
A soundproofing material 10 is applied to a vehicle hood panel 14 on the side facing the engine compartment. The soundproofing material 10 as a whole has a sheet-like form and includes a pulverized rubber layer 11 containing rubber grains of various kinds of material, various sizes and various shapes and covering layers 12 which cover the pulverized rubber layer 11. Noises are absorbed topically by a number of rubber grains within the soundproofing material 10 and by air gaps present between the rubber grains. While noise generating sources such as an engine, an induction system unit, transmissions and so on are housed in the engine compartment, noises ranging over a plurality of wavelength are generated by them yet are absorbed by the pulverized rubber layer 11, because the pulverized rubber layer 11 contains a mixture of rubber grains of various kinds, various sizes and various shapes, and the frequency level of the noise to be absorbed by each rubber grain is different piece by piece.
