Abstract:
Systems and methods provide secondary cell group (SCG) activation and deactivation. A user equipment (UE) in a wireless network may determine bandwidth part (BWP) configurations for a carrier of a primary secondary cell (PSCell) of an SCG for dual connectivity (DC). The UE may move between an SCG activation state and an SCG deactivation state based on the BWP configurations. SCG deactivation modeling may be based on a separate BWP configuration or may be modeled via a separate configuration in radio resource control (RRC) that is applicable to the BWPs in a serving cell.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) operates in a network. The UE receives, from the network, a paging area comprising a plurality of cells of the network. When the UE is in one of a radio resource control (RRC) inactive state or RRC idle state with respect to the network, the UE transmits a message to a first cell of the paging area based on the UE moving into a first coverage area of the first cell from a second coverage area of a second cell of the paging area. The UE then monitors the first cell for a page from the network.
Abstract:
A network configures and transmits paging information. The network transmits configuration information to a user equipment (UE) operating in the network, wherein the configuration information comprises a value N based on a minimum gap between reception of a paging downlink control information (DCI) by the UE and fully processing the paging DCI by the UE, configures a paging DCI to be transmitted to the UE on a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH), wherein the paging DCI includes scheduling information for a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) and transmits the paging DCI to the UE on the PDCCH.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) configured to monitor paging occasions of a network. The UE operates in a paging discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle, wherein the DRX cycle includes a paging occasion (PO). The UE determines a location in time for a wake-up signal (WUS) occasion associated with the PO and determines whether to utilize an active mode or a sleep mode during the PO based on an indication included in a WUS received during the WUS occasion.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) is configured to utilize wake up signaling during paging operations. The operates in a paging discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle, wherein the paging DRX cycle includes a paging occasion (PO). The UE receives a wake-up signal (WUS) during a WUS occasion that is associated with the PO and selects a mode of operation to utilize during the PO based on the WUS.
Abstract:
A device and method for transmitting user equipment capability information to a network. In a first mechanism, the device and method determines the carrier aggregation (CA) combinations supported by the user equipment that are relevant to the user equipment. in a priority order to the network. The relevant CA combinations may be determined based on most recent camped bands and the neighbor bands of the most recent camped bands. In a second mechanism, the device and method orders the relevant CA combinations into a prioritized list according to which CA combination have priority based on selected priority factors. Subsequently, the user equipment broadcasts the prioritized list of CA combinations to the network.
Abstract:
A method for offloading a video portion of a video call form a cellular network to a WLAN is provided. The method can include a wireless communication device participating in a video call with a remote device over a connection between the wireless communication device and a cellular network. The video call can include a first video stream carried over a first bearer on the cellular network and an audio stream carried over a second bearer on the cellular network. The method can further include the wireless communication device establishing a connection between the wireless communication device and a WLAN; performing a call setup procedure with the remote device to establish a second video stream over the WLAN; terminating the first video stream; and using the second video stream and the audio stream to continue the video call.
Abstract:
A method for reducing power consumption by a wireless communication device is disclosed. The method can include the wireless communication device performing a first measurement of an alternative cell during a first measurement gap; sending a first measurement report generated based on the first measurement to the serving cell; storing the first measurement report; determining a mobility state of the wireless communication device; comparing the mobility state to a mobility threshold criterion; resending the first measurement report to the serving network as a report for a second measurement gap in an instance in which the mobility state satisfies the mobility criterion; and performing a second measurement of the alternative cell during the second measurement gap and sending a second measurement report generated based on the second measurement to the serving cell in an instance in which the mobility state does not satisfy the mobility threshold criterion.

Abstract:
A network reselection procedure, of a wireless communication device, that occurs following a network detachment event, such as a device sleep event or a device power savings mode event. The wireless communication device attempts to acquire a first wireless network to which the wireless communication device was most recently attached, immediately preceding the network detachment event. Then, in response to an unsuccessful acquisition of the first wireless network, the wireless communication device attempts an alternate network acquisition utilizing a Most Recently Used List (MRUL) that is stored at the wireless communication device and includes information about one or more frequency bands allocated to a primary service provider with which the wireless communication device is affiliated. After determining whether the alternate network acquisition attempt was successful, the wireless communication device attaches to a second network and stores information associated with the second network.
