In order to generate three-dimensional form data having characteristic lines desired by a user from original three-dimensional form data, a closed surface consisting of longitudes and meridians is arranged so as to inscribe a three-dimensional form model, and the longitudes and the meridians are projected to a surface of the three-dimensional form to generate parametric curves running along the surface. Then, control points of the parametric curves are moved to adjust the curves so that a part of the parametric curves in correspondence to the movement of the control point moves along the surface of the form model. The curves adjusted are taken as three-dimensional form data of the form model.

A liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal layer between a glass substrate and a counter substrate. A TFT and scanning lines which control the TFT are provided on the glass substrate. On the counter substrate, a gradation signal line which is connected to a counter electrode applying a voltage to the liquid crystal layer is provided opposite to the scanning lines. A sealing section for sealing the liquid crystal of the liquid crystal layer is provided while enclosing the display area between the glass substrate and the counter substrate. The sealing section has conductive particles. Upper contact pads connected to the gradation signal lines and lower contact pads on the glass substrate are electrically connected via the conductive particles. This realizes a liquid crystal display device with a smaller frame and makes the mounting compact in size without causing poor connection due to line breakage.

As a method of driving a liquid crystal display device, the average voltage of reference line drive voltages Vcom for AC-driving a liquid crystal is set higher than the average voltage of signal line drive voltage V0. Moreover, when displaying a plurality of gray scales, the respective voltages are set so that the average voltage of the signal line drive voltages is lowered with a decrease in a voltage difference to be applied to the liquid crystal as an absolute value. In a liquid crystal display device of an opposing signal line structure, a high-quality image display is achieved by compensating for the non-symmetry of the transmissivity of the liquid crystal with respect to positive and negative drive voltages to prevent flickering and image persistence.

In order to produce a reproduction of an object such as a human face, a three-dimensional form of the object is measured with a three-dimensional measuring device, and the measured form is displayed. After a user approves the displayed form, a material is worked according to the measured form to work a reproduction of the object. If the user cancels the displayed form, the form is measured again and the measured form is displayed. Characteristics of the measured form are extracted, and an appropriate material is selected among a plurality of materials. On the other hand, the data of the measured form are converted to work data with reference to the size and the quality of a product to be worked which have been stored in a database. Preferably, the data are compressed in the depth direction in order to shorten the working time. Then, the material is worked in a series of processes from the form input to the working in a simple way, and the user can obtained a desired three-dimensional reproduction.
