It is described a method for partitioning radio transmission resources within a telecommunication network. The method includes (a) preparing a handover of a user equipment from a source access point being assigned to a source side of the telecommunication network to a target access point being assigned to a target side of the telecommunication network, (b) transferring a pre-announcement message from the source side to the target side indicating the handover, wherein the pre-announcement message is indicative for the amount of data traffic being associated with the user equipment, and (c) partitioning the radio transmission resources on the target side based on the pre-announcement message. It is further described a source side network element and a target side network element for controlling a partitioning of radio transmission resources within a telecommunication network. Furthermore, a computer program for controlling the above described method is described.

There are provided measures for enhanced admission control in relay-enhanced access networks, said measures exemplarily including receipt of a bearer admission request of at least one bearer in a relay-enhanced access network, said at least one bearer consisting of a bearer on an access link between a user equipment and a relay node and a bearer on a backhaul link between said relay node and a base station, and execution of a combined bearer admission control of said at least one bearer at one of said relay node and said base station, including a bearer admission control on the access link and a bearer admission control on the backhaul link. Said measures may exemplarily be applied for enhancing admission control in relay-enhanced LTE and LTE-Advanced access networks.

A method includes acquiring an information from a second base station by a first base station, wherein the information is indicative for a relative timing displacement between (a) a first time pattern of a first radio resource partitioning scheme and (b) a second time pattern of a second radio resource partitioning scheme. The method further includes adapting the first time pattern of the first radio resource partitioning scheme, used by the first relay node, to the second time pattern of the second radio resource partitioning scheme, used by the second relay node, in such a manner that Time Transmission Intervals (TTIs) of the first time pattern which one used for uplink radio transmissions coincide with TTIs of the second time pattern which one used for uplink radio transmissions. A corresponding first base station is adapted for controlling and/or for carrying out the above described method.

Requests of resources of uplink flows towards a base station (BS) and/or downlink flows towards end nodes are computed by each requesting node on an end-to-end basis. Each requesting node issues a cumulative request given by summing up the same request for each link separating the node from the BS plus each link separating the BS from the destination node, enabling the centralized node to perform connection based scheduling. The BS in response to all cumulative requests grants uplink and/or downlink resources for each link. The profile of grants is equal to the profile of requests when the amount of resources requested is below the maximum net throughput on MAC layer. When not below the maximum net through-put on MAC layer, the ideal profile of grants is normalized with respect to a ratio between the maximum net throughput on MAC layer and the amount of the overall requested resources.
