摘要: A printing apparatus is disclosed which moves a print head of a printing mechanism to a relocation position on receiving a relocation command signal. On receiving a relocation command signal, a searching means retrieves a code data of a character or the like other than a space code in sequence from an end address toward a head address of a correction memory. Then, when the searching means detects code data of the character or the like, a controlling means relocates the print head at the print position which is shifted by one digit in the printing direction from the position corresponding to the address of the code data detected by the searching means.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a magnetic disk device is configured to read data from and write data to a magnetic disk using a magnetic head and provided with a control module that controls initial operation of the magnetic disk device according to initial firmware. The magnetic disk device includes a reader, a retainer, a blocker, and a switch. The reader reads control firmware stored in the magnetic disk. The retainer fixes a servo control amount for the magnetic head after the control firmware is read, and retains the magnetic head at a predetermined position above the magnetic disk. The blocker blocks input of an interrupt signal to the control module. The switch switches the initial firmware to the control firmware after the servo control amount is fixed and the input of an interrupt signal is blocked.

摘要: A backlight device of the present invention includes a substrate (2), a liquid crystal layer (4), and a scattering layer (5). The substrate (2) has a surface facing the liquid crystal layer (4), on which surface two comb electrodes (3a and 3b) are provided. The comb electrode (3a) includes a plurality of comb-teeth parts (33a) meshing with a plurality of comb-teeth parts (33b) of the comb electrode (3b). Therefore, the comb electrodes (3a and 3b) can causes electric fields to be generated, in response to an applied voltage, in at least two directions each parallel to the surface of the substrate (2). Further, there is a region whose effective refractive indexes with respect to polarized light p and polarized light s become large. It is therefore possible to control emission of both the polarized light p and the polarized light s.

摘要: A direct-viewing type display device includes: a display panel 10 having a display region 10A and a frame region 10F provided outside the display region, with a boundary extending along a first direction between the display region and the frame region, the display region having a plurality of pixels arrayed therein; and a light-transmitting cover 14 disposed on the viewer's side. The light-transmitting cover includes a lens portion 141 disposed astride the boundary for refracting a portion of light going out from the display region toward the frame region. The lens portion refracts the light so that light emitted from the plurality of pixels in the display region has a substantially equal pitch on a plane which is perpendicular to the first direction. A line of intersection 1412 between the plane which is perpendicular to the first direction and a viewer-side surface 1411 of the lens portion is a curve which is not a circular arc. According to the present invention, with a simpler structure than conventionally, there is provided a display device that displays an undistorted image, in which the frame region, or joints in the case of tiling, is obscured.

摘要: There is provided a liquid crystal display device in which display defects that would be caused by asymmetry of light emitted from a backlight are reduced and which is capable of providing brightness with improved symmetry about the direction vertical to the display surface. The liquid crystal display device includes a backlight configured to emit light toward a liquid crystal panel and a microlens array interposed between the liquid crystal panel and the backlight. The backlight emits the light toward the microlens array such that the average propagation direction of the emitted light is a second direction, the second direction being different from a first direction that is perpendicular to a light receiving surface of the liquid crystal panel. Each of the plurality of microlenses has an asymmetric shape about an axis which is perpendicular to the light receiving surface and which passes through the center of the microlens, and emits light toward the liquid crystal panel such that the average propagation direction of the emitted light is nearer to the first direction than the second direction.

摘要: An amorphous layer 101 is formed in a region from a surface of a silicon substrate 100 to a first depth A. At this time, defects 103 are generated near an amorphous-crystal interface 102. By heat treatment, the crystal structure of the amorphous layer 101 is restored in a region from the first depth A to a second depth B that is shallower than the first depth A. The resultant amorphous layer 101 extends from the surface of the silicon substrate 100 to the second depth B. The defects 103 remain at the first depth A. By ion implantation, a pn junction 104 is formed at a third depth C that is shallower than the second depth B.
