    摘要: Utilizing air, rather than oxygen, to convert coal to synthesis gas containing very high proportions of inert nitrogen; subjecting this entire gas, possibly with intermediate cleanup, e.g., sulfur removal, to conversion over a special metal-zeolite catalyst to produce a product comprising C.sub.5 to C.sub.11 normally liquid hydrocarbons, a gas containing C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide and large proportions of nitrogen, and an aqueous product comprising water; utilizing the gas product to run electric power generation equipment, such as a direct fired turbine, at base load levels; storing and accumulating the liquid product; and intermittently using the liquid product for electric power generation to meet higher than base loads, including peak load situations.

    摘要: The synthetic fuel slate of products derived from wet natural gas is expanded to include both aromatic gasoline from the methane rich dry gas portion via steam reforming to synthesis gas, the production of methanol from synthesis gas and the conversion of methanol to gasoline over a ZSM-5 type catalyst, plus high quality jet fuel, diesel fuel and lubricating oils from the C.sub.3.sup.+ paraffin rich fraction of wet natural gas via thermal cracking of the paraffin rich fraction to olefins and the conversion of the olefins to gasoline and distillate boiling range hydrocarbons over a ZSM-5 type catalyst. Methane separated from the thermal cracked product can be mixed with the dry gas fraction for synthesis gas production and a portion of the hydrogen from the synthesis gas may be used to hydrogenate the distillate fraction from the catalytic conversion of the thermal cracked product.

    摘要: Hydrocracked, low pour lubricating oils of good stability are manufactured by passing a suitable hydrocarbon feed and hydrogen sequentially through a hydrocracking zone, a catalytic dewaxing zone, and a hydrotreating zone, all at high pressure and in that order, with purification of the hydrogen gas prior to passage to the dewaxing zone. By maintaining all zones at high pressure, the efficiency of the process is augmented.

    摘要: Synthetic lubricating oils having a predetermined alkylaromatic structure are prepared from a mixture of mono- or dialkenyl benzene with an aliphatic olefin by free-radical reaction in the presence of ditertiary-butyl peroxide, for example. Equivalent napthalene derivatives may be substituted for the dialkenyl benzene. The oils that are formed exhibit a high Viscosity Index, and a low pour point. The viscosity of the synthetic lube stock produced may be controlled by changing the amount of peroxide used.

    摘要: The present invention includes a process and catalyst composition for paraffinic isomerization of a hydrocarbon feedstock which has a paraffin content having no more than 20 carbon atoms per molecule. The feedstock is contacted with a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite catalyst having pore openings defined by: (1) a ratio of sorption of n-hexane to o-xylene, on a volume percent basis, of greater than about 3, which sorption is determined at a P/P.sub.o of 0.1 and at a temperature of 50.degree. C. for n-hexane and 80.degree. C. for o-xylene and (2) by the ability of selectively cracking 3-methylpentane (3MP) in preference to the doubly branched 2,3-dimethylbutane (DMB) at 1000.degree. F. and 1 atmosphere pressure from a 1/1/1 weight ratio mixture of n-hexane/3-methyl-pentane/2,3-dimethylbutane, with the ratio of rate constants k.sub.3MP/ k.sub.DMB determined at a temperature of 1000.degree. F. being in excess of about 2, e.g., ZSM-22, ZSM-23, AXM-35 and mixtures thereof, in combination with a Group VIII metal, and having a zeolite SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 ratio of at least about 20:1 at a temperature and pressure suitable for isomerization.
