摘要: Various improved catheter marking arrangements are described. In a first aspect of the invention, a first longitudinally extending radiopaque marker is positioned on the catheter. A second longitudinally extending radiopaque marker is positioned opposite the first marker at a rotational orientation that is approximately 180 degrees offset from the first marker. The second marker has a length that is sufficiently different from the first marker such that a surgeon utilizing the catheter in a surgical procedure would be able to readily differentiate the first and second markers in a fluoroscopic image based on their respective lengths in order to determine the rotational orientation of the catheter.In some embodiments, the catheter includes a lumen that has a side port that opens to a side of the catheter. The first marker is composed of a pair of axially aligned marker segments located on opposite ends of the side port. The length of the first longitudinal extending marker defined as an end-to-end length of the pair of axially aligned marker segments is longer than the length of the second marker. The markers may be formed from any suitable materials that can be clearly detected by an imaging system.

摘要: A scaffold is provided for managing access through tissue. The scaffold can support the tissue during medical procedures. The scaffold is placed around or proximate an opening in tissue. The scaffold can expand when medical devices are introduced through the scaffold and through the opening and retract when the medical devices are removed. When the medical devices are removed, the scaffold closes automatically to substantially close the opening.

摘要: Generally, the present disclosure includes a hybrid segmented endoprosthesis for delivery into a lumen of a body. The hybrid segmented endoprosthesis has different types of segments that are joined together. The segments are typically distinct and distinguishable from each other by each segment having a unique configuration different from at least one other segment. Additionally, the segments can be coupled together by various processes well known for interconnecting the materials of endoprostheses. The segmented endoprosthesis can provide improved deliverability, strength, flexibility, and/or functionality during and after deployment. The use of a segmented endoprosthesis can combine the configurations of multiple small endoprostheses into a standard- or regular-sized endoprosthesis.

摘要: A tissue closure device including a hub and first and second flanges extending therefrom. The hub extends along a central longitudinal axis between a proximal surface and an opposing distal surface. The first flange is frameless and extends from the hub adjacent the proximal surface thereof. The second flange extends from the hub adjacent the distal surface thereof. The first and second flanges are moveable between: a closed position, in which the first and second flanges extend radially away from the hub and are substantially orthogonal to the central longitudinal axis; and an open position, in which the first and second flanges extend longitudinally away from the hub in opposite directions from each other and are substantially parallel with the central longitudinal axis.

摘要: A color coding is applied to medical guide wires by coloring portions of the guide wire to distinguish similar guide wires and guide wire portions from a particular manufacturer. The metallic elongate core can be colored using various methods such as electrochemical processes, sputtering, electroplating, and laser inducing microstructures to alter the surface characteristics of the elongate metallic core. Alternatively, the outer layer of the guide wire can be color coded by using non-standard colors or by introducing a colored band on the guide wire.

摘要: A remotely controlled motorized assembly for adjusting the vertical position of the doffer support shaft in the harvesting units a cotton harvesting machine. The assembly is retrofittable for use on existing harvesting units of cotton harvesting machines the doffers of which are designed to be adjusted using a manual adjustment screw. The invention includes a motor which is attached to the harvesting unit, intermediate gears, and a special opening or collar which fits onto the head of the manual adjustment screw of the doffer support shaft. The motorized assembly allows automatic or semi-automatic adjustment of the doffer support shaft without opening the harvesting units or shutting down the harvesting machine, saving considerable time and energy and promoting safety. Bipolar motors may be employed to allow for adjustment in either direction. A microprocessor and sensors may also be employed for automatic monitoring and adjustment of the doffer support shafts.
