摘要: A guardrail support, attachment and positioning block used to space guardrails from support posts is disclosed. The positioning or spacer block is a generally rectangular block having corded-out cavities to reduce weight and tabs or projections for cooperatively engaging the sides and top of a support post as well as the edges of the guardrail during roadway safety barrier system installation. Webbing within one or more of the cavities may be used for additional structural support. To optimize the strength to weight characteristics of the spacer block, the spacer block may be formed by low-pressure injection molding. The spacer block may also be formed from virgin and/or recycled plastic material and/or include virgin or recycled rubber material, such as that obtained from the regrind of used tires, and/or another elastomeric materials from other sources.

摘要: A fast resume of a computer from a low power mode to a normal operating mode captures a power down message from the operating system of the computer to devices connected thereto. In response to the captured message, the device manager is instructed to remove the device from the operating system. The computer is powered down with the device removed. The system is later powered up with the device removed, allowing for faster resume to normal operation. After the computer has returned to normal operation, the device manager reinstates the removed device. The program to capture the power down message can be above the device driver in the driver stock or be an application running in the user mode of the operating system.

摘要: A modular unitized electrochemical fuel cell cartridge (20) is formed from a mono-polar anode plate (22), a second mono-polar cathode plate (24 ) and a solid polymer membrane electrode assembly (26) operably interposed between the anode and the cathode. An electrochemical fuel cell stack is provided having at least one removable fuel cell cartridge, a pair of current collectors which are individually disposed on opposite sides of the anode and the cathode plates and a pair of end plates which are individually disposed on opposite sides of the current collectors from the anode and cathode plates. Sealing ridges (42) and mating grooves (44) as well as alignment means (46) enable the easy assembly of a modular unitized fuel cell cartridge and stacking said cartridge.

摘要: A delashing assembly includes a tightening device for tightening a nut in relation to a main shaft supported on bearings and a wireless interface, wherein torque information is received by the tightening device over the wireless interface. A main shaft and main nut assembly, as well as a steering system, may include the delashing assembly. A method of delashing the main shaft and main nut assembly includes providing a tightening device on a first end of the main shaft and sending torque information from a second end of the main shaft to the tightening device over the wireless interface.

摘要: The present invention is generally directed to improved methods, devices, and systems for eye surgery. In some embodiments, the invention may provide new and/or improved devices, systems, and methods for detecting surgical fluids in a fluidics cassette, particularly cassettes which are used to couple an eye treatment probe to an eye treatment console. Rather than relaying on internal reflection by a gas-liquid interface, the fluid detection techniques described herein may make use of the changes in propagation of light through a portion of the holding tank when the portion varies between empty and full. For example, light may propagate directly through the holding tank portion when there is no surgical fluid, but may be directed away from a light detector when the portion of the holding tank is filled with surgical fluid. As the light may be controllably refracted using the interface between the transparent holding tank material and the surgical fluid, the propagation properties of the light may be more reliably predicted and controlled. While the sensor may not determine the actual liquid level within the holding tank, a plurality of individual liquid detectors may be sufficient to determine when it is appropriate to (for example) turn drain pumps on and off, when the holding tank is in danger of being overfilled, and the like. Other aspects of the invention may provide devices, systems, and methods for producing different types of fluidics cassette using a single cassette body type.
