摘要： A vascular device comprising a plurality of vessel engaging members and a valve. The device is movable from a collapsed insertion position having a first diameter to a second expanded position having a second diameter larger than the first diameter. The plurality of vessel engaging members extend outwardly from the device for securely engaging the internal wall of a vessel upon expansion of the device to the second expanded position, wherein the vessel engaging members pull the internal wall of the vessel radially inwardly upon movement of the device from the second expanded position toward a first expanded position having a third diameter greater than the first diameter and less than the second diameter. In the first expanded position the valve is movable between an open position to allow blood flow therethrough to a closed position to prevent blood flow.

摘要： Apparatus and method for surgery is disclosed which includes a retractor having a substantially planar base defining an opening for overlying an operative site on a patient, and at least one retractor blade slidably mounted to the base. The base is positioned on the patient such that the opening therein overlies the operative site. The operative site is percutaneously accessed, and obstructing tissue is retracted by engaging the tissue with the retractable blade. A surgical instrument is provided which in engageable with the base and operable at the operative site through the opening in the base. A surgical procedure is carried out through the opening in the base with the surgical instrument.

摘要： A surgical instrument for anastomosis of first and second blood vessels is provided having a handle and a body portion extending distally from the handle. A collet is mounted adjacent a distal end portion of the body portion and defines a passage therethrough for the reception of an end of a first blood vessel. A plurality of surgical fasteners are releasably supported by the collet and radially oriented about the distal end thereof. An anvil is mounted adjacent of the collet. The anvil and collet are relatively slidable in response to actuation of the handle to simultaneously deform then release the surgical fasteners.

摘要： A surgical hand support apparatus includes a support member having a supporting surface for supporting at least the hand of a patient, a finger restraining member moveable relative to the supporting surface to be positioned to engage the fingers of the patient and a thumb restraining member moveable relative to the supporting surface to be positioned to engage the thumb of the patient. A quick release mechanism is associated with the finger restraining member and the thumb restraining member to lock the respective members at predetermined positions relative to the supporting surface. The apparatus may also include a wrist restraining member to engage the patient's wrist. An instrument support member is associated with the wrist restraining member and is configured to support a surgical instrument. A method is also disclosed for performing carpal tunnel surgery wherein the patient's hand is held in the hand support and a guiding instrument and balloon catheter are inserted through the instrument support member.

摘要： A seal assembly is provided which includes a housing and resilient first seal member associated with the housing. The first seal member is preferably a gasket having an aperture formed therein for receiving surgical instrumentation adapted to cooperate with a dilating means having an exterior face associated with the housing for dilating the aperture of the gasket. The first seal member and the dilating member are adapted for relative movement therebetween, the first seal member and the dilating member assuming a first position wherein the aperture of the first seal member is spaced from the dilating member and assuming a second position wherein the aperture of the first seal member is stretched around the exterior face of the dilating member. A flexible member may also be provided to help maintain a seal between the first seal member and an instrument inserted therethrough, in particular when the instrument is moved in a transverse direction.

The inner and outer members are relatively slidable to adjust a stiffness of the guidewire system. The lumen of the outer member forms a gap for fluid flow therethrough. A connector has a first end portion connected to the outer member, a second end portion connected to the inner member and a fluid infusion channel communicating with the gap for injection of fluid through the gap to exit a distal portion of the outer member.

摘要： An implantable device for regulating blood flow through a blood vessel includes an elongated support. The support includes axially spaced apart first and second substantially annular support portions, and an x-shaped linking member linking the axially spaced apart portions to one another. The device also includes a valve membrane extending between the axially spaced apart support portions and having an upper portion, a lower portion and an intermediate portion. The valve membrane includes a first region and a second lower region. The first region is folded over the linking member for attachment and the second region is adjacent the first region and unattached to the linking member. The second region is movable between a first position to enable blood flow and a second position to inhibit blood flow.
