摘要： An information processing apparatus capable updating firmware thereof, while reducing power consumption. In a case where an image forming apparatus as an information processing apparatus is in a power switch off mode in which a power switch operable by a user is kept turned off and where a setting to permit execution of firmware update has been set by the user, the image forming apparatus stops power supply for execution of processing other than processing performed by a network I/F. When a firmware update request is received by the network I/F, the image forming apparatus restores power supply for execution of firmware update.

摘要： A honeycomb filter production apparatus includes: a workpiece securing section for securing a base of a honeycomb filter; a powder transfer section for transferring a powder together with an air current by utilizing pressurized gas; an introduction section for introducing the powder that has transferred from the powder transfer section into the base secured by the workpiece securing section when the apparatus is used; a suction section for sucking the gas that has passed through the base secured by the workpiece securing section using suction means; a cleaning section for removing a surplus powder adhering to an end face of the base after the introduction of the powder; a judgment section for judging an amount of the powder adhering to the base; and a workpiece transfer section for transferring the base among the workpiece securing section, the cleaning section, and the judgment section.

摘要： Provided is a crystal of a florigen activation complex, including a florigen, a 14-3-3 protein, and a bZIP transcription factor bound to each other. In addition, flowering of a plant is regulated by controlling mechanisms of interactions among those proteins utilizing the crystal. These are achieved as follows. With attention focused on the fact that Hd3a is bound to FD1 via GF14c to form a florigen activation complex, a crystal of the florigen activation complex is produced, conformational information is obtained through the use of the crystal of the florigen activation complex, and the flowering of a plant is regulated by controlling mechanisms of interactions among the florigen and the like utilizing such conformational information.

Furthermore, the human monoclonal antibodies were found to be effective in preventing and treating a variety of diseases.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a honeycomb structure having a plugged portion, which is faster and cheaper to manufacture, and a manufacturing apparatus thereof. A film is attached to an end face of a honeycomb structure in a state where the honeycomb structure is positioned in a table portion having a through hole into which the end face portion of the honeycomb structure is to be inserted, and the film is held in a flat state where a remaining portion of the film which is not attached to the end face is attached to the table portion. Then, holes opened so as to correspond to the openings of a part of cells are formed in the film to form the film as a mask, and a plugging material having fluidity is supplied onto the mask or onto the same plane as the mask to fill the cells with the plugging material.

The cover includes a flat plate portion, an opening portion, wall portions and an opening part. The flat plate portion is opposed to a surface of the disc tray and has a frame shape corresponding to respective side portions of the disc tray. The opening portion is provided in a central part of the flat plate portion. The wall portions erect from outer peripheral parts of the flat plate portion and surround a periphery of the disc tray excluding a front part of the disc tray. The opening part is formed in a manner to open a region opposed to another surface of the disc tray.

The pressurizing apparatus is moved on the mask with a part of the region of the pressurizing face being brought into surface contact with the mask via the plugging material to pressurize the plugging material toward the cell side and to push out an extra plugging material in the direction of movement to further pressurize and fill the material into the cells with forming the region of the surface contact.
