摘要: A driving method, able to realize a PDP device having a reduced background luminance and high display quality, has been disclosed. The driving method is a method for driving a plasma display panel consisting of plural display electrodes forming pairs of electrodes, plural address electrodes, and display cells formed at the intersections of the pairs of electrodes and the address electrodes, comprising an initialization period, an address period, a charge form period during which a charge form pulse is applied to the pair of electrodes, and a sustain discharge period during which a sustain discharge light emission is caused to occur, wherein the initialization period comprises a write period during which first amount of charges is accumulated in the display cells and a charge adjust period during which the amount of charges accumulated during the write period is adjusted to second amount of charges, and wherein the voltage to be applied to the pair of electrodes is an inclined wave-shaped charge adjust pulse, the voltage of which varies gradually and the absolute value of the voltage of the charge form pulse is greater than the absolute value of the voltage of the sustain discharge pulse.

摘要: A communication control method and apparatus quickly confirms the status of a communication port when connecting a peripheral device 2 and an information device 1 through a communication port of the information device 1. The communication control method has a first step in which the second module of the information device 1 creates an object and executes a process to connect the device 2 based on a device connection command from the first module, and then eliminates the object when the connection is no longer needed. A second step confirms if the object was already created when the first module instructs the second module to open a connection to the device 2. A third step determines that the port is closed and the device 2 is not connected if the object is not already created, and instructs the second module to open the port and connect the peripheral device. However, if the object is already created, the third step determines and reports to a higher program level that the port is open and the device 2 is already connected.

摘要: A semiconductor memory incorporates cylinder-type stacked capacitors. Each capacitor has a lower electrode and an upper electrode facing each other via a dielectric film. The lower electrode of each capacitor is supported by a beam-like insulator at a side portion of the electrode, the side portion being apart from a lower edge of the lower electrode.

摘要: A method of manufacturing ceramic bodies having a construction such that cells are alternately sealed at one but not both end surfaces of a ceramic honeycomb structural body by filling a sealing slurry into predetermined cells at both end surfaces of a ceramic honeycomb formed body and sintering the ceramic honeycomb formed body, is performed by: forming a mask for respective ceramic honeycomb formed bodies by arranging a sheet on an end surface of the ceramic honeycomb formed body and piercing holes in the sheet at positions corresponding to the predetermined cells; immersing an end portion of the ceramic honeycomb formed body to which the mask is arranged into the sealing slurry; and filling the sealing slurry into the cells through the holes pierced in the mask.
