摘要: Disclosed is a multimedia reproducing apparatus for selecting and reproducing favorite contents from many contents recorded on media of plural different types. A media icon array (70), made up by plural media icons, indicating the types of the reproducible media, and a contents icon array (72), made up by plural contents icons, indicating the items of the reproducible contents, are arrayed in an intersecting fashion at a mid portion of a display picture image (50). A moving picture icon (56), which is a media icon displayed at an area of intersection (76) of the media icon array (70) and the contents icon array (72), is displayed to an enlarged scale with a color different from the color of the remaining media icons. A thumbnail of interest (64), directly subjacent to the moving picture icon (56), is also displayed to an enlarged scale with a different color. On the right side of the thumbnail of interest (64) are displayed attributes of the contents.

摘要: A portable electronic device and method manage battery-produced power without lowering sound quality for music and other sound effects. In the present invention, an operation clock of the CPU of the portable electronic device and a processing wait time for image drawing are dynamically controlled. When there is no sound emission request, the CPU runs at a low clock rate. Where there is a sound emission request, the CPU runs at a high clock speed. When the sound emission ends, the CPU returns to the low clock rate. A user senses no apparent change, as the CPU slows screen drawing speed at high clock speed and increases screen drawing speed at low clock speed.

摘要: A process for catalytic reaction of heavy oils and a particulate solid medium, which comprises withdrawing a part or the whole of the used medium from the reactor, separating the withdrawn particles into the particles which have been rendered magnetic by the deposition thereon of nickel, vanadium, iron and copper originally contained in the heavy oils, and non-magnetic particles, using a high gradient magnetic separator which is so designed that a ferromagnetic matrix is placed in a uniform high magnetic field, and returning the non-magnetic particles of the medium into the reactor for re-use.
