The polymeric suds stabilizers suitable for use in the methods and/or compositions of the present invention comprise cationic, anionic, and noncharged monomer units, or units having mixtures thereof, wherein said polymers have an average cationic charge density from about 0.05 to about 5 units per 100 daltons molecular weight at a pH of from about 4 to about 12.

Rinse aid materials for coating, coating compositions, methods and articles of manufacture for use in automatic dishwashing appliances comprising a nanoparticle system or employing the same to impart surface modifying benefits for all types of dishware surfaces are disclosed. In some embodiments, dispersement of nanoparticles in a suitable carrier medium allows for the creation of rinse aid surface coating compositions, methods and articles of manufacture that create multi-use benefits to modified dishware surfaces. These surface modifications can produce long lasting or semi-permanent multi-use benefits that include at least one of the following improved surface properties: wetting and sheeting, uniform drying, anti-spotting, anti-staining, anti-filming, self cleaning, and durability benefits, relative to dishware surfaces unmodified with such nanoparticle systems. In some embodiments, actively curing the rinse aid surface coating composition on the dishware surfaces, including, but not limited to by radiative heating the air surrounding the dishware surface with the coating thereon can be used to increase the durability of the dishware surface coating.

The present invention relates to liquid detergent compositions comprising a polymeric material which is a suds enhancer and a suds volume extender, said compositions having increased effectiveness for preventing re-deposition of grease during hand washing. The polymeric material which are suitable as suds volume and suds endurance enhancers comprise an effective amount of a polymeric suds stabilizer comprise: i) units capable of having a cationic charge at a pH of from about 4 to about 12; provided that said suds stabilizer has an average cationic charge density of 2.77 or less units per 100 daltons molecular weight at a pH of from about 4 to about 12; b) an effective amount of a detersive surfactant; and c) the balance carriers and other adjunct ingredients; provided that a 10% aqueous solution of said detergent composition has a pH of from about 4 to about 12. positive or negative charge at a pH of from about 4 to about 12. Each R2 is independently hydrogen, hydroxy, amino, guanidino, C1-C4 alkyl, or comprises a carbon chain which can be taken together with R, R1 any R2 units to form an aromatic or non-aromatic ring having from 5 to 10 carbon atoms wherein said ring may be a single ring or two fused rings, each ring being aromatic, non-aromatic, or mixtures thereof. Light-duty liquid or gel dishwashing detergent compositions that are especially useful for manual washing of heavily soiled dishware under conditions of low temperature and high hardness. Such compositions contain a surfactant system comprising a mid-hain branched surfactant. Preferably, the compositions also comprise a polyhydroxy fatty acid amide-based nonionic surfactant component, a detersive amount of magnesium or calcium, a suds booster which is preferably an amine oxide and an aqueous liquid carrier. The detergent compositions exhibit excellent phase stability at low temperatures and excellent mixing rates with water, even at low temperature and/or high water hardness.
