摘要: An inner shell having aligned first and second expansion chambers is spacedly disposed in an outer shell in a manner to define therebetween four isolated chambers upstreamly positioned two of which surround the first expansion chamber and downstreamly positioned two of which surround the second expansion chamber. The first expansion chamber is connected through respective flanged openings to the upstreamly positioned isolated chambers to allow these chambers to show a sound damping effect. The upstream and downstream portions of the second expansion chamber are connected through respective groups of perforations to the downstreamly positioned isolated chambers to allow these chambers to show a sound damping effect.

摘要: An air gallery connected to an air pump is formed in the cylinder head of an internal combustion engine. A bore is also formed in the cylinder head to communicate the air gallery with the exhaust port of the engine. Within the bore an air injection nozzle is securely inserted and projected through the wall surface of the exhaust port near the longitudinal axis of the exhaust port.

Two flat protruded portions are formed on the spherical surface of the concavity and their planes intersect each other at a location slightly below the vertex of the spherical surface. 摘要: Exhaust gases, which are slightly cooler than normal due to NOx suppressing ignition of the charge containing a large amount of recirculated gas by dual spark plugs, are exhausted via a large diameter exhaust valve to reduce the time for which they exceed the speed of sound and transfer heat to the cylinder head to maintain a high CO and HC oxidizing temperature. The exhaust valve is diametrically opposed to the inlet valve and has a cross sectional area of 19 to 24% of the cylinder bore.

摘要: A catalytic reactor for the exhaust gases of a motor vehicle comprising a catalyzer bed through which a pipe extends having one end connected to a secondary-air source. The other end of the pipe connected to a chamber wherein a simple and economical temperature detector, such as bimetal, is installed. When the temperature of the catalyzer bed exceeds a predetermined value, as measured by the temperature detector, a valve is electrically activated by an electrical circuit containing said detector, whereby exhaust gas bypasses said catalyzer bed.

摘要: A passenger cabin heating system incorporated with a boiling liquid cooled-combustion engine is disclosed, which comprises a first passage connected to the coolant jacket of the engine a heat exchanger connected to the first passage for receiving therein the gaseous coolant of the coolant jacket to achieve heat exchanging between the gaseous coolant in the condenser and air surrounding the condenser, and a second passage extending between the heat exchanger and the coolant jacket for recirculating the coolant thus liquefied in the heat exchanger back into the coolant jacket.
