Abstract:
In an intake air flow control valve device a flange formed in a housing of the intake air flow control valve device is bolted to a cylinder head via a first gasket and a second gasket along opening outer peripheries of a first intake air passage and a second intake air passage, which are opened to a mount surface of the flange between the flange and a mount surface of the cylinder head.

A snowmobile has a structure that reduces and minimizes adverse affects of snow on a throttle motor. The snowmobile includes a snowmobile body including an engine room therein, an engine which is disposed inside the engine room, a throttle valve arranged to adjust intake air supplied to the engine, a throttle motor arranged to drive the throttle valve and disposed ahead of the engine, and an air box arranged to pass the intake air through toward the engine, disposed ahead of the engine and including a portion located ahead of the throttle motor.
Abstract:
A motor driven implement having an internal combustion engine having at least one cylinder and at least one carburettor, which is disposed in a carburettor chamber, which is separated by an intermediate wall from an engine compartment, wherein a fan wheel is further provided by which means air from the engine compartment can be introduced through an engine compartment opening in the intermediate wall into the carburettor chamber. A warm air opening is provided in the intermediate wall, through which the air heated over the cylinder can be introduced into the carburettor chamber and wherein an adjusting element is provided which can be brought into a summer position in which the engine compartment opening is open and the warm air opening is closed and which can be brought into a winter position in which the engine compartment opening is closed and the warm air opening is open.

Abstract:
An auxiliary intake valve device is provided that includes a valve housing that is disposed at an air cleaner cover, has an inlet port and an outlet port, and has a plurality of inlet apertures at the inlet port. In addition, a fixing bracket is disposed within the valve housing and an elastic member is disposed on the fixing bracket. A plurality of valves are supported by the elastic member and are configured to selectively close the inlet apertures and open the inlet apertures when negative pressure is generated at the outlet port.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a valve unit for at least one of influencing and controlling a gas flow in an internal combustion engine comprising at least one valve member for modifying a cross-section of a gas flow-carrying channel through which a fluid flows and a drive train for rotatingly driving the at least one valve member. The drive train comprises an input shaft, which is drivingly coupled to a drive device in the mounted state, and at least one valve member shaft which is non-rotationally connected to the valve member. It is especially advantageous if the drive train comprises at least one phase adjuster for drivingly coupling the input shaft and the valve member shaft, a rotational position of the shafts in relation to each other being adjustable by the phase adjuster.
Abstract:
A subassembly for a valve device for controlling air flow in an intake manifold. The subassembly includes a cartridge including a plurality of compartments having partially open opposing sidewalls, wherein adjacent partially open side walls of adjacent compartments are spaced apart a distance to define a groove therebetween, a plurality of partitions each having a through-hole therein and being disposed in the grooves defined between adjacent partially open side walls of the adjacent compartments. The partitions complete the formation of the opposing side walls of the adjacent compartments and each compartment is alignable with an air intake runner of an intake manifold.

Abstract:
Featured is a method for controlling operation of an internal combustion engine having a supercharger, a bypass, a cylinder de-activation (CDA) system and a throttle body, where the supercharger is configured and arranged so as to be selectively operable. Such a method includes determining which of three operating modes is appropriate for a given set of operating conditions and controlling each of the supercharger, the bypass, the CDA system and the throttle body based on the determined operating mode. In the first and second operating modes, the supercharger is not operable and the bypass is opened. In the third mode, the supercharger is operable and the bypass is closed. In the first and third modes, the CDA system is configured so all cylinders are operational. In the second mode, the CDA system is configured so certain cylinders are in a deactivated state and so other cylinders remain operable.
Abstract:
An L-shaped rotary valve has a pair of side plates and a valve plate. The rotary valve is rotatably supported in a housing at a shaft 5. The valve plate moves along downstream ends of side wall portions of an air duct. A gap is formed between a downstream end of an air-intake passage and the valve plate, when the rotary valve is moved to its valve closed position. The side plates of the rotary valve cover the gap in a lateral direction in parallel to an axial direction of the shaft, so that leakage of air flow in the lateral direction of the gap is suppressed.
