Abstract:
The present invention relates to a DNA fragment for improving translation efficiency, and a recombinant vector containing the same, and more specifically, to a DNA fragment which comprises any one nucleotide sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs: 1-6, SEQ ID NOs: 8-10, SEQ ID NOs: 13 and 14 and SEQ ID NO: 16, and improves the translation efficiency of a heterologous protein placed in the downstream, and a recombinant vector containing the DNA fragment. The DNA fragment for improving translation efficiency according to the present invention and a recombinant vector containing the same can improve the translation of a heterologous protein in a transgenic plant. In addition, if a leader polynucleotide inducing the targeting to a particular cellular organelle of a plant is further linked to the recombinant vector in an operable manner, the heterologous protein is targeted to the specific cellular organelle and can be stably accumulated, thereby enabling the mass production of the heterologous protein from the plant.

Abstract:
A method of manufacturing an expansion joint includes steps of: marking parts, which will form the expansion joint, on a piece of raw material, so that the original 360 degree shape of the expansion joint is equally divided by the parts, and cutting the marked parts from the raw material; welding the divided parts, so that opposing ends of the welded parts are separated from each other; bending the welded parts into the form of a cone using a bending roller, thereby welding and joining the opposing ends thereof; fixedly mounting the resultant structures on a press; shaping the mounted resultant structures into products using a mold having a desired shape and dimension; and butting a pair of the products against each other and welding the products in the outer radial direction.
Abstract:
An oil supply apparatus for an engine includes an oil pan located beneath the engine to store oil therein, an oil pump mounted in the oil pan to pump the oil stored in the oil pan, and a chain-drive unit mounted between the oil pump and a crankshaft of the engine to transmit a rotating force of the crankshaft to the oil pump. The chain-drive unit is partially immersed in the oil stored in the oil pan. With this configuration, there is no need for separate elements for lubricating the chain-drive unit, whereby the overall structure of the oil supply apparatus can be simplified. This results in a reduction in the number of elements and manufacturing costs.
Abstract:
Featured is a method for controlling operation of an internal combustion engine having a supercharger, a bypass, a cylinder de-activation (CDA) system and a throttle body, where the supercharger is configured and arranged so as to be selectively operable. Such a method includes determining which of three operating modes is appropriate for a given set of operating conditions and controlling each of the supercharger, the bypass, the CDA system and the throttle body based on the determined operating mode. In the first and second operating modes, the supercharger is not operable and the bypass is opened. In the third mode, the supercharger is operable and the bypass is closed. In the first and third modes, the CDA system is configured so all cylinders are operational. In the second mode, the CDA system is configured so certain cylinders are in a deactivated state and so other cylinders remain operable.
Abstract:
Components of a golf exerciser are contained within a tube that can be swung in a simulated golf swing independently of a golf club. Within the tube is an extension spring connected to a weight so that centrifugal force developed during swinging the tube can move the weight toward a distal end of the tube. There, a shock absorber is positioned for the weight to impact against whenever sufficient arcuate tube velocity is achieved. The shock absorber includes a deformable elastomer that cushions and stops the distal movement of the weight and also makes a sound indicating that a swing of sufficient velocity has been achieved.
Abstract:
A golf swing exerciser uses two lengths of resistance cords or tension elements connected to an exercising handle so that one of the cords extends to an upper resistance region on a back swing side of the exerciser and the other resistance cord extends between upper and lower resistance regions on a back swing side of the exerciser. The cord from the upper resistance region resists downward movement of an exercising handle from a back swing region, and the cord extending between the upper and lower resistance regions resists lateral movement of the handle into a hitting region. The combined resistance of both cords significantly increases as the handle moves into the hitting region.
