摘要: The present disclosure relates to an imaging device and an imaging method that enable more appropriate exposure control to be performed quickly. An image sensor includes an image sensor in which an exposure detection pixel configured to output a pixel value to be used for detection of brightness of a subject and an effective pixel configured to output a pixel value effective for construction of an image are arranged in an imaging effective area to be utilized for imaging of the image; and an exposure control unit configured to control exposure time of the image sensor on the basis of the pixel value output from the exposure detection pixel. Furthermore, the pixel value of the exposure detection pixel has a higher dynamic range than the pixel value of the effective pixel. The present technology can be applied to an image sensor including AE control, for example.

摘要: A pixel array uses two sets of pixels to provide accurate exposure control. One set of pixels provide continuous output signals for automatic light control (ALC) as the other set integrates and captures an image. ALC pixels allow monitoring of multiple pixels of an array to obtain sample data indicating the amount of light reaching the array, while allowing the other pixels to provide proper image data. A small percentage of the pixels in an array is replaced with ALC pixels and the array has two reset lines for each row; one line controls the reset for the image capture pixels while the other line controls the reset for the ALC pixels. In the columns, at least one extra control signal is used for the sampling of the reset level for the ALC pixels, which happens later than the sampling of the reset level for the image capture pixels.

摘要: Use of pupillary response to visible light for iris authentication is disclosed. One example involves (a) capturing an initial image of an eye including an inner circular boundary between a pupil region and an iris region and an outer circular boundary between the iris region and a sclera region, (b) determining a first size measurement indicative of the inner circular boundary, (c) responsive to at least the first size measurement, modulating one or more visible light sources to output visible light toward the eye of the user, (d) capturing a subsequent image of the eye of the user during a period of pupillary response, (e) obtaining an iris data record of the user, and (f) comparing the iris data record of the user to one or more registered iris data records to authenticate the user.

摘要: The invention disclosed herein concerns a privacy enhancing device for use with IP cameras and related methods. The privacy device includes an adjustable light filter and is configured to be placed over the lens of an IP camera such that the image captured by the IP camera passes through the filter. The transparency of the light filter is controlled using a control module in response to user inputs received using an on-board user interface so as to provide varying levels of privacy ranging from an opaque state and a transparent state. Inputs that serve to facilitate and enhance operation of the device can also be received from other input sources such as connected computing devices. For security, the control path defined by the control module and the on-board user input device can be isolated from other more sophisticated control devices that can be prone to hacking and remote control.
