Abstract:
A thermoplastic laminate plank is described wherein the thermoplastic laminate plank comprises a core, a print layer, and optionally an overlay. The core comprises at least one thermoplastic material and has a top surface and bottom surface wherein a print layer is affixed to, the top surface of the core and an overlay layer is affixed to the top surface of the print layer. Optionally, an underlay layer can be located and affixed between the bottom surface of the print layer and the top surface of the core. In addition, a method of making the thermoplastic laminate plank is further described which involves extruding at least one thermoplastic material into the shape of the core and affixing a laminate on the core, wherein the laminate comprises an overlay affixed to the top surface of the print layer and optionally an underlay layer affixed to the bottom surface of the print layer.
Abstract:
Surface structured decorative boards (1) having a first and a second opposite edge (1I and 1II respectively). The board (1) include an upper side decorative surface (2) an upper side surface structure and a base layer. The structure is comprised by at least two surface grades (10) forming a decorative surface pattern on said upper side, said pattern being applied in predetermined fixed positions (P) on the first and the second edges (1I and 1II respectively). The first edge pattern positions (PL) and the second edge pattern positions (PR) are matched so that the pattern continues over the first and second edges (1I and 1II respectively) of adjacent boards (1).
Abstract:
A coated paper used for printing and manufacturing method thereof. The coated paper comprises a coated layer mainly compose of a pigment and an adhesive on a base paper or paper web. The coated paper also comprises the thermal shrinkage force (R) which satisfies following formula when measured pursuant to the measuring method described in the specification; 0nullRnull45 gf A sample coated paper is moisture-adjusted in accordance with JIS-P-8111. Then, it will be cut into specific dimension along with orthogonally to the cross direction. Next, the paper will be put through Thermo Mechanical Analyzer to obtain R that is measured by predetermined technique. The coated paper will be obtained easily by using a base paper coated with PVA having a saponification decree of not less than 85 mol in an amount of 0.5-5 g/m per side surface after the coating material was dried and dried.

Abstract:
A foil for forming a surface protection layer on a profiled body is produced by a method including forming a carrier foil impregnated with an impregnating resin which is an aqueous condensation resin having a higher volatile component content during coating and a lower volatile component content during lacquering, and applying a lacquer layer of a lacquer which is an aqueous system of a polymerisate containing an OH-group, wherein the foil prior to its application on the profile body has a relatively low end moisture.
Abstract:
Linerless label stock is produced from a single substrate utilizing a coating machine by moving the substrate through the coating machine and applying a tie coating to the substrate first face, a release coating to the substrate second face, and a pressure sensitive adhesive to the tie coating. The tie coating comprises a dispersion of a pigment, such as silica, with a binder, such as polyvinyl alcohol. The substrate is cut to form individual labels, and is rolled up into a roll with the release coated second face on the outside of the roll. Printing may be applied to the substrate prior to coating, or to the release coating.

Abstract:
A process for making a spray dried redispersible polymer powder, especially a VAE copolymer powder, by spray drying a polymer emulsion containing a polyvinyl alcohol redispersant. A sufficient amount of the total polyvinyl alcohol redispersant is added to the polymer emulsion prior to spray drying and the remaining amount of polyvinyl alcohol redispersant is added as a dry powder to the spray dried polymer powder.
Abstract:
Improvements in the construction of postformable laminates are disclosed by the provision of a single high basis weight, high coarseness, high kappa number sheet formed predominantly of softwood pulp, preferably southern loblolly pine, which pulp has been treated in a mechanical device that effectively imparts kinking and curling to the individual pulp fibers. The sheet is intended as a replacement for the highly extensible sheet(s) currently located on the back of the laminate farthest away from the core.
Abstract:
The invention concerns the production of a decorative high-pressure laminate with a surface layer (3) on the surface of which an adhesive primer layer (4) of polyvinyl butyral is applied. The adhesive primer layer (4) enables a lacquer coating to be applied subsequently, so that a lacquer layer optimally suited to the particular application for which the laminate is eventually used can be chosen. The adhesive primer layer (4) can be applied by impregnating a web of paper with melamine resin, dusting the impregnated web with polyvinyl butyral powder while the resin is still wet and then drying. Another way of producing the coat is to apply polyvinyl butyral in alcoholic solution to a web of paper which has been impregnated with melamine resin and dried, and subsequently drying.
Abstract:
A flame retardant electrical laminate prepared by impregnating a base material with a halogen-containing unsaturated polyester resin which is prepared by dissolving a halogen-containing unsaturated polyester into a polymerizable monomer; and then curing the halogen-containing unsaturated polyester resin; wherein the halogen-containing unsaturated polyester has a molecular weight per 1 mole of unsaturated group of 350 to 1,000, and the cured halogen-containing unsaturated polyester resin has a glass transition temperature of 30.degree. to 90.degree. C.Such electrical laminates not only have excellent flame redardancy but also excellent puching quality at wide temperature range including room temperature.
