Abstract:
A tire comprising a continuous channel defined by spaced apart sidewalls coupled at a first end to a bridging member and at a second end to a contact member that is coupled to a disc contact portion, said tire being formed by rotational molding of a polyurethane and configured for mounting on a wheel rim.
Abstract:
A Solid Vacuum Wheel and Tire Assembly incorporating a vacuum to adhere a solid vacuum tire in place against a vacuum wheel using the application of a vacuum pressure seal, allowing for safe and reliable operation without flat tires, deflated tires or punctures. Several new configurations of the assembly are possible as well as a new retrofit assembly for existing pneumatic wheel systems. The method of applications and installations are also included.
Abstract:
A tire changing tool comprising a tool body, a ram, a ram actuator, a clamp arm, and a clamp actuator. The tool body is comprised of a housing, a lateral bracket, and first and second holding feet. The ram is comprised of a ram body and a ram base comprised of first and second opposed ram feet. The ram body is removable from an inner cavity of the housing, and is rotatable and replaceable in the inner cavity of the housing. Prior to fitting the tool to the tire and wheel for its intended use, the position of the ram base may selected between a first position in which the first ram foot extends laterally outwardly a first distance between the first and second holding feet, or a second position in which the second ram foot extends laterally outwardly a second distance between the first and second holding feet.
Abstract:
A vehicle wheel, which is divided in an axial direction of a tire into two pieces which are an in-side half wheel and an out-side half wheel that are connected to each other and fixed to an axle hub, includes wheel coupling bolts joining a mating surface of the in-side half wheel and a mating surface of the out-side half wheel together, and hub bolts joining the out-side half wheel and the axle hub together. The wheel coupling bolts and the hub bolts are respectively screwed into nuts from the out-side half wheel side.
Abstract:
A wheel assembly includes a collapsible wheel and an airless flexible tire mounted on the wheel. The wheel includes a central portion and a plurality of circumferentially spaced mounting elements attached to the central portion. Each of the mounting elements is movable between a retracted position and an extended position, and may be pivotally attached to the central portion of the wheel and configured to pivot between the retracted position and the extended position. The tire may be positioned on the wheel when one or more of the mounting elements is in the retracted position, and the one or more mounting elements are moved to the extended position wherein the mounting elements engage and support the tire.
Abstract:
A tire spoon holder is provided. The tire spoon holder may include: a first and second handle; a first and second jaw, each jaw connected to at least one of the handles wherein the jaws are configured to come together when the handles are moved toward each other; and a loop attached to at least one jaw or handle. A method of attaching a tire spoon to a wheel rim may be provided. The method may include: attaching a tire spoon holder to a wheel rim; slipping a tire spoon through a loop in the tire spoon holder; and inserting a flat portion of the tire spoon between a tire and the wheel rim.
Abstract:
A tire-wheel assembly and disassembly method is disclosed wherein relative shifting of a tire and a wheel when braking and/or cornering can be suppressed without negatively affecting tire replacement workability. Specifically, a tire-wheel assembly has a wheel constructed from an electrically conductive material and a tire assembled on an outer peripheral side of the wheel, wherein an electrically conductive layer is formed on at least a part of a wheel contact surface of the tire, and an electrically debonding adhesive comprising an ionic liquid is interposed between the electrically conductive layer of the tire and the wheel. When disassembling this tire-wheel assembly, the tire is removed from the wheel after voltage is applied between the wheel and the electrically conductive layer of the tire and electricity is passed through the electrically debonding adhesive.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for centering a tire on a wheel for concentrically mounting the tire on the wheel. The tire and wheel assembly are placed on an arched member which gravitationally centers assembly on the arched member. Further, the arched member is also a rest for the tire sidewall to seal the bead of the tire on the wheel. A tire stand for handling, positioning and assisting in seating a bead is also provided. The tire stand also has an arched member to center the tire on the wheel. Two forks cradle a vertically positioned tire to initially position the tire and wheel assembly over the arched member. The tire stand is configured to be tilted to a horizontal position-with the tire and wheel assembly inserted, thereby centering the assembly on the arched member. A beading device can then be activated to the concentric tire and wheel assembly.
Abstract:
Tool for mounting a tire onto a rim, suitable for making it easier to insert the bead of the tire under the bead-stopping edge of the rim and inside the channel of the rim itself; said tools comprises a body equipped with a fixed jaw and with a mobile jaw to which actuation means are operatively connected suitable for taking said mobile jaw closer to said fixed jaw to lock said body to the edge of the rim, a base intended to be rested on the sidewall of the tire being associated with said body, said base being fixedly connected to said body so as to be able to oscillate towards the axis of the rim to make it easier to insert the bead inside the bead-stopping edge of the rim.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an assembling-disassembling machine provided with a base, a rotating support device (4) for a wheel rim or tyred wheel, an upright or column element (2) extending upwards from the base, and at least one mounting/dismounting tool (6) supported by the upright or column element (2) and mounted on one end of a tool carrying arm (5) in order to transversely extend from the upright element (2). The assembling-disassembling machine also comprises rotating and shifting support means located between the upright or column element (2) and the tool-carrying arm (5) at an upper level with respect to the rotating support device (4), whereby said tool-carrying arm (5) can be rotated and shifted with respect to the upright or column element (2) between a working position, in which the tool (6) is close to the rotating support device (4) and at least one rest position far from the rotating support device (4).
