A liquid mixture containing a liquid polymeric material and a granular filler is injected into a mold (11) for centrifugal molding and subjected to centrifugal molding, thereby preparing a cylindrical body including a homogeneous dispersion layer (2) having the filler homogeneously dispersed in the polymeric material and a high-density packed bed (1), formed on the outer peripheral surface side or on the inner peripheral surface side of the homogeneous dispersion layer (2), containing the aforementioned polymeric material more densely filled with the aforementioned filler. The high-density packed bed (1) is removed for exposing the surface of the homogeneous dispersion layer (2). According to this structure, the yield of the elastic cylindrical body can be improved.

An outer joint member for a constant velocity joint is fitted to the inner periphery of a wheel hub, and the stem portion of the outer joint member that is located inside is plastically deformed in the radially outward direction in order to couple the wheel hub and the outer joint member. The ratio of the inner diameter nulldA before plastic deformation in the plastic deformation portion of the outer joint member and the inner diameter nulldB after the plastic deformation (nullnull(nulldB/nulldA) is set in the range from 1.05 to 1.15 (1.05nullnullnull1.15). In this way, high workability and joining strength can be achieved at a time in the swaging process in the radially outward direction.

A vehicle-use bearing device having a double row rolling bearing fitted around an outer peripheral surface of a hollow shaft portion of a hub wheel, wherein a held portion between an axially intermediate position and a vehicle outer side in the hollow shaft portion of the hub wheel is axially held between the axially intermediate position of an outer ring shaft portion of a constant velocity joint and the vehicle outer side so that a cup-shaped cylindrical portion of an outer ring of the constant velocity joint is free of contact with a caulked portion in the hollow shaft portion of the hub wheel at the shaft end on the vehicle inner side in order to connect the hub wheel with the constant velocity joint without a clearance, whereby an excessive preload which can affect a rolling performance of the double row rolling bearing is not imparted on the bearing.

A bearing unit comprises a radially outer stationary race (1) and a pair of radially inner rotatable half-races (2a, 2b). An intermediate annular chamber (8) is defined between the outer race (1) and the inner half-races (2a, 2b). The intermediate chamber communicates with the outside through first air passages (5) formed in the outer race (1) and with the inside of the bearing unit through second radial air passages (6) defined between the inner half-races (2a, 2b). An intermediate annular member (10) is axially interposed between the inner half-races (2a, 2b) and defines the second passages (6).

A development roller of an electric-photographic machine is manufactured by a method of mixing a base material of either NBR rubber or HYDRIN rubber, an electric conductive high-molecule-weight material to adjust an electric resistivity of the development roller, and peroxide as a cross-link agent cross-linking the base material and the electric conductive high-molecule-weight material in a three-dimensional structure, forming the development roller from a mixture of the base material, the electric conductive high-molecule-weight material, and peroxide, and irradiating the development roller with ultraviolet light to adjust a friction coefficient of a surface of the development roller. Accordingly, the development roller has characteristics of a low electric resistivity even with a single layer structure.

A wheel hub assembly for an automotive vehicle has a spindle with a flange by which a wheel is mounted, the spindle being supported by a support member and being rotated through a universal joint. Axially spaced inboard and outboard bearing members are positioned between the spindle and the support member. The spindle has a tapered raceway forming a cone of the outboard bearing member, the raceway lying inboard of the flange. The outboard bearing member cone raceway has no thrust rib at its large, outboard end, and a large radius is provided between the outboard end of the raceway and the flange. An outboard bearing member cup has a raceway tapered complementarily to the cone raceway and a thrust rib at its outboard end. Preferably, the inboard bearing member has a cone with no thrust rib, and a cup with a thrust rib.

The present invention is directed to a roll cover for a calender or press roll for treating a material web. The roll cover includes a layer of elastomeric material having filaments running approximately longitudinally with respect to a web run direction and transversely to the web run direction embedded for reinforcement, and at least one layer of additional reinforcing filaments embedded in at least some sections of the elastomeric layer. The additional reinforcing filaments run at an angle between 20null and 70null with respect to the web run direction. The layer is arranged to form roll ends connectable to a roll axle. The instant abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

Mounted in a suspension upright for land vehicles, there is provided an arrangement comprising a constant velocity joint, a hub and two wheel bearings with provision for preload adjustment, wherein the CV joint's outer race proper is the inboard wheel bearing's inner race. The bearing raceway formed on the exterior surface of the CV joint's outer race proper is located so as to be in the general area occupied by the driven plane in line with the CV joint's flexural center, providing full end support to the CV joint itself, and concurrently bring about increased axial spacing between the inboard and outboard bearings. Having the CV joint's outer race proper thus integrated to the inboard wheel bearing, a robust hub assembly is provided, wherein the CV joint's flexural center can be placed more closely to the wheel center plane than is normally possible, making negative scrub radius with low kingpin inclination easily achievable.
