Abstract:
A reference chart of a target color is generated, and device data corresponding to calorimetric data of the reference chart are determined from color conversion data. A balance chart is generated on the basis of the device data and device data in the vicinity thereof. Patches of the balance chart which are visually color-matched to the reference chart are selected under desired observational conditions, and corrective data based on a deviational quantity between the device data of the selected patches and the device data to be color-matched to the reference chart. The color conversion data are corrected with the corrective data for thereby achieving visual color matching with respect to the target color.
Abstract:
A thermal transfer donor element is provided which comprises a support, a light-to-heat conversion layer, an interlayer, and a thermal transfer layer. When the above donor element is brought into contact with a receptor and imagewise irradiated, an image is obtained which is free from contamination by the light-to-heat conversion layer. The construction and process of this invention is useful in making colored images including applications such as color proofs and color filter elements.
Abstract:
A silver halide light sensitive color photographic material is disclosed, comprising a reflective support having on one side of the support a hydrophilic colloid layer containing a white pigment and one or more silver halide emulsion layers, wherein at least one of the silver halide emulsion layers contains a silver halide emulsion having a spectral sensitivity maximum at a wavelength of 730 nm or more, and an average primary particle size of the white pigment being 0.30 .mu.m or more.
Abstract:
Dimensional inconsistencies between a proof and an image to be overlaid thereon is avoided by subjecting both the proof image and the overlay image to the same heat treatment, thereby ensuring that both images undergo the same degree of shrinkage.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A method which substantially maintains the exposure latitude contained in one or more digital images captured in linear form and which uses an output device with a predetermined aim curve for producing visual images from such digital image includes the steps of selecting a particular reference portion of the scene corresponding to the digital image and adjusting the code value of such reference portion to a code value corresponding to a desired density and which corresponds to a point on the aim curve and changing the remaining code values of the digital image based upon the selected code value of the point on the aim curve so that a new digital image in linear form is produced; transforming the new digital image to form a third digital image which has code values based on the aim curve; and producing visual images by the output device in response to the transformed third digital image.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the production of a colored image for color proofing of copy masters for multicolor printing and a layer material for carrying out this process.A positive image of the exposure mask (color separation film) is produced by lamination of a photosensitive material onto a colored layer material, followed by imagewise exposure and peeling-off of a film support, or a negative image of the exposure mask is obtained by imagewise exposure of the photosensitive material before the lamination, accompanied by flood exposure after lamination followed by peeling-off of a film support. The two procedures use the same materials and do not require wet development. For each single-color image, only one lamination step is required.
Abstract:
A colorant-donor element for thermal colorant transfer comprising a support having thereon a colorant layer having a laser radiation-absorbing material associated therewith, wherein the laser radiation-absorbing material comprises a polymer containing within its repeat units a laser radiation-absorbing chromophore comprising an organic moiety having a plurality of conjugated double bonds and an optical absorption of from about 400 to about 1200 nm, and wherein the organic moiety is capable of forming at least two covalent bonds to the polymer backbone.
Abstract:
The improved color image recording apparatus comprises a raster image processor to create scan image data; a color management system to correct the color/density of the scan image data; an exposing device with which a photosensitive material is scan exposed by multi-channel exposure to record a latent image in accordance with the corrected scan image data; a developing device with which the photosensitive material having the latent image formed thereon is subjected to a development process so as to create a hard copy having the image reproduced thereon; an instrument to measure the color/density of the image in the hard copy; and a system for revising the conditions of exposure in the exposing device and/or the conditions of correction in the color management system in accordance with the result of measurement with the instrument. This color image recording apparatus ensures that hard copies having print-quality images and a high degree of similarity to the actual print can be output consistently with satisfactory color stabilization and reproduction. Further, the apparatus is capable of outputting hard copies of large sizes up to A1 at high speed with high efficiency.
