摘要: This invention relates to a method for manufacturing a mineral wool board, comprising the following steps in the given order: providing mineral wool fibers having a fiber length of 50 to 800 μm; gluing the fibers with a liquid binder comprising phenolic resin, whereby the ratio of binder (based on the solids content of the resin of the binder) to mineral wool fibers is 5 to 30% by weight, and pressing the glued fibers using heat and pressure.

摘要: An optical fiber comprises a glass fiber comprising a core and a cladding, a primary resin layer being in contact with the glass fiber and covering the glass fiber, and a secondary resin layer covering the primary resin layer, wherein the secondary resin layer consists of a cured product of a resin composition comprising a base resin containing a urethane (meth)acrylate oligomer, a monomer, and a photopolymerization initiator and hydrophobic inorganic oxide particles, the content of the inorganic oxide particles is 1% by mass or more and 60% by mass or less based on the total amount of the resin composition, and the glass transition temperature of the secondary resin layer is 60° C. or more and 120° C. or less.

摘要: Composite materials are provided which include a glass-ceramic matrix composition that is lightly crystallized, a fiber reinforcement within the glass-ceramic matrix composition which remains stable at temperatures greater than 1400° C., and an interphase coating formed on the fiber reinforcement. A method of making a composite material is also provided, which includes applying heat and pressure to a shape including fiber reinforcements and glass particles. The heat and pressure lightly crystallize a matrix material formed by the heat and pressure on the glass particles, forming a thermally stable composite material.

摘要: An aqueous inorganic or hybrid binder composition includes (as % by weight of the solid matter): from 55 to 100% of at least one alkali metal silicate exhibiting an Si/alkali metal weight ratio which varies from 0.3 to 2, from 0 to 35% of at least one plasticizing agent, and from 0 to 10% of one or more additives. Fibrous products can obtained from this composition, in particular based on mineral fibers, such as mats, screens, woven fabrics, in particular painter's canvases, and knitted fabrics.

摘要: A curable formaldehyde-free binding composition for use with fiberglass is provided. Such curable composition comprises an aldehyde or ketone and an amine salt of an inorganic acid. The composition when applied to fiberglass is cured to form a water-insoluble binder which exhibits good adhesion to glass. In a preferred embodiment the composition when applied to fiberglass provides a sufficient blackness required in facer products.

摘要: An active optical fibre, including: a core; an inner cladding substantially surrounding the core, whereby the core and the inner cladding form an area configured to propagate pump radiation; an outer cladding comprised of at least a third material with at least a third refractive index substantially surrounding the inner cladding, the third refractive index being smaller than the second refractive index, whereby the outer cladding confines pump radiation to the core and the inner cladding; and a coating comprised of a thermally conductive material substantially surrounding the outer cladding, wherein the inner cladding is configured to reduce impact of spatial hole-burning on absorption of the pump radiation as the pump radiation propagates through the active optical fibre, and wherein the thermally conductive material of the coating supports a reduced temperature increase between the area and an outer surface of the coating.

摘要: Monolithic gravity-laid inorganic fiber webs that are greater than about 5 cm in thickness are disclosed. Methods of making and using such webs are also disclosed. The gravity-laying process comprises mechanically separating inorganic fibers and collecting the fibers as a monolithic thick web, and may comprise blending of multiple types of inorganic fibers and/or blending of inorganic particulate additives with the fibers.
