    Abstract: An exterior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle equipped with a blind spot detection system includes a base configured to fixedly attach at a side of the vehicle and a mirror casing movably attached at the base. The mirror reflective element sub-assembly includes a backing plate having a backing plate perimeter. A mirror reflective element is fixed at the backing plate and movable therewith via operation of an actuator. The mirror reflective element includes a reflector-coated glass substrate having a substrate perimeter. A blind spot indicator is disposed at the backing plate outboard of the substrate perimeter of the glass substrate and between the substrate perimeter and the backing plate perimeter. The blind spot indicator is in communication with the blind spot detection system of the vehicle and indicates to the operator of the vehicle when an object is detected to be present in the blind spot of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A transaction authorization system for a vehicle includes a radio frequency identification (RFID) device disposed in the vehicle. When the vehicle is located within a field of sensing of a sensing device of an RFID sensing system, the RFID sensing system is operable to recognize the RFID device. The RFID sensing system, responsive to recognition of the RFID device, is operable to wirelessly communicate with a remote server to at least one of (i) authorize a transaction pertaining to the vehicle and (ii) authorize a transaction pertaining to a user of the vehicle.

The module includes a first portion disposed at an aperture through the back plate and an internal structure that has reflective surfaces and at least one aperture. A circuit board is disposed at a second portion of the housing such that at least one light emitting diode is disposed at a respective aperture of the internal structure. The reflective surfaces are configured so that light emitted by the light emitting diode is generally directed towards the side of the vehicle. The circuit board is disposed at the second portion such that electrically conductive terminals of the circuit board are disposed in a connector portion that is configured to connect to a connector of a wire harness of the exterior rearview mirror assembly.

    Abstract: An interior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a reflective element, a housing portion and a user input module. The housing portion is positioned at a perimeter of the reflective element and has an exterior surface that faces generally toward the driver of the vehicle when the interior rearview mirror assembly is normally mounted in the vehicle. The housing portion has a recess established at the exterior surface. The user input module includes at least one user input that is actuatable by a user and includes backlighting operable to backlight the at least one user input. The user input module is at least partially received in the recess at the housing portion and is configured to snap attach at the housing portion when at least partially received in the recess at the housing portion.

    Abstract: An electro-optic mirror reflective element for a rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a front substrate and a rear substrate with an electro-optic medium disposed therebetween. A display element is disposed at the front substrate and includes a transparent organic light emitting diode display. With the electro-optic mirror reflective element disposed at a rearview mirror assembly at the vehicle and when the display element is activated, information displayed by the display element is viewable by a driver of the vehicle. With the electro-optic mirror reflective element disposed at the rearview mirror assembly at the vehicle and when the display element is not activated, the driver views reflected images of the scene rearward of the vehicle as reflected off a specularly reflective mirror reflector disposed at a surface of the rear substrate.
