Abstract:
A conference bridge of a conference system having a plurality of conference stations, the bridge comprising: reception means for receiving dual-channel audio signals coming from the conference station; determination means for determining at least one processing function per conference station of the conference system; application means for applying respective weighing functions to the received dual-channel signals; build-up means for building up one hybrid dual-channel signal for forwarding per conference station by means for summing a portion of the process dual-channel audio signals; and forwarding means for forwarding the respective hybrid dual-channel audio signal to each of the various conference stations of the conference system. A method of forwarding a spatialized audio scene and implemented by a conference bridge is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method is provided for transmitting a digital signal between at least two transmitters and at least one receiver, using a concatenation of at least two codes. The method includes a first encoding step, in the transmitters, which outputs at least two first code words; a first transmission step of the first code words, via at least two distinct transmission channels; a receiving step, in at least one relay device, of at least two of the first code words, known as intermediate code words; a step of intertwining at least one part of the bits of the intermediate code words that outputs the intertwined bits; a second step of encoding the intertwined bits, in the relay(s), which outputs at least one second code word, taking into consideration the intermediate code words; a second step of transmitting the second code word(s) through the relay device(s), so as to enable, in the receiver(s), an iterative decoding, taking into account the first code words, and then a redundancy formed by the second code word(s).
Abstract:
A method for managing radio resources allocated by a radio network controller of a UTRAN radio access network, where the resources support a plurality of service requests identified by a radio access bearer service request sent by the core network and describing the required QoS as a set of RAB parameters defined by mapping with corresponding QoS parameters of the core network, the controller is provided to distribute the resources amongst the bearer services and to modulate the allocation of the resources according to the priority level associated with each of the bearer services, and the priority level is defined by the “priority level” sub-parameter of the “Allocation Retention Priority” RAB parameter, with a value determined by taking into account the value of the “Allocation Retention Priority” QOS parameter of the core network and the value of at least one QoS parameter associated with the type of service.
Abstract:
A method for broadcasting images from a video sequence, the method comprising, at the level of broadcasting equipment: including images in an output stream for transmission to at least one restoration equipment, receiving feedback from said restoration equipment of error messages relating to the restoration of the images from the video sequence, analyzing the error messages in order to identify images or parts of images not restored or badly restored and determining response messages including correction images or image parts. The method furthermore comprising determining a level of seriousness for each error message according to the analysis performed and deciding to return a response message relating to an error message according to the level of seriousness of that error message.
Abstract:
A method of calculating a series of control parameters to be applied to a polarization controller arranged so as to compensate for the modal dispersion of polarization affecting an optical signal passing through an optical link by calculating a plurality of polarization states of which the respective representations on a Poincaré sphere are separated from one another by a distance greater than a minimum distance dependent on an acceptable threshold of bit error ratios and, for each state of polarization thus calculated, associating at least one control parameter to be applied to the polarization controller with the calculated state of polarization.
Abstract:
A method is provided decoding a digital image signal in a decoding terminal that uses a variable-complexity decoding, enabling, for at least one step in the decoding, selection of at least one decoding tool from at least two available decoding tools. The method includes the following steps: identifying from the images control images and intermediate images; applying to each of the control images, for at least one step of the decoding, at least one predetermined decoding tool imposed by the signal; applying to at least one of the intermediate images, for at least one step of the decoding, at least one decoding tool selected by the decoding terminal and not imposed by the signal.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for indicating drag and drop targets for a first object among a plurality of second objects in a graphical user interface (GUI). The method includes rendering with a first rendering mode a first group of second objects within the GUI onto which a selected first object is likely to be dropped, rendering with a second rendering mode distinct from the first rendering mode a second group of second objects, the second group consisting of the remaining second objects, receiving a drag input on the first object, and updating the groups based at least upon an updated position of the first object derived from the received drag input.
Abstract:
A method is provided for propagating at least one route for at least one digital stream between a first location server of a first IP telephony domain and a second location server of a second IP telephony domain, the first location server belonging to an autonomous system, and the route for transferring the at least one digital stream. The method includes a stage of propagating at least one identification relating to the autonomous system of the first location server towards the second server.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to signal modification before pitch period repetition for the synthesis of blocks lost on decoding digital audio signals. The effects of repetition of transitories, such as the plosives of a speech signal, are avoided by comparing the samples of a pitch period with those of the previous pitch period. The signal is modified preferentially by taking the minimum between a current sample (e(3)) of the last pitch period (Tj) and at least one sample (e(2−T0) of approximately the same position in the previous pitch period (Tj−1).
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for updating a temporal synchronization reference exchanged between a first item of equipment and at least one second item of equipment belonging to a communication network. The method includes the following steps implemented by one of the two items of equipment: a step of receiving a traceability cue relating to a frequency-synchronization reference; a step of determining the periodicity of updating of the temporal synchronization reference as a function of said traceability cue received. The updating makes it possible to maintain the temporal synchronization reference of the second item of equipment.
